Hello
Today I'm here to talk about
why I'm getting dreads.
Once and for all I would like to tell everyone
who's curious
the reason I'm getting them.
Well, it's quite simple.
Well,
I'm not really rebelling
with getting dreads
but
I decided to get them because I wanted them since I was 12.
When I was 12 I had a lot longer hair.
Probably
twice this long
I have now.
And you could ask me if
I should wait
with getting dreads, because my hair is pretty short now.
It reaches just below my shoulders.
Well,
people with shorter hair get dreads,
and also, it takes time to mature,
and I'm well aware, that
they'll probably shrink a lot,
but I don't think that they'll actually reach
above
my jaw line.
I had short hair like that,
and I liked it.
So, with dreads, I think it's going to be
not the same, but fine
Another reason why I'm getting dreads is because I hate caring about my hair, I mean
washing them
and combing them out,
even though it's short,
it's just a mess.
I hate
doing it,
and everytime I wash my hair, just a whole bunch of hair
comes out. Yeah, I lose a lot of hair,
but I can't really do anything about it.
With dreads that's gonna change, 'cause
even if it falls out,
it stays in the dread.
We can think of it as a
connection to nature, I mean people back then
didn't really have a chance to comb their hair.
Maybe some used fishbones. Hair was intended to be dreaded. You can see a lot of
animals (dogs, sheep) with dreadlocks,
and it's perfectly natural. It's not damaging.
It's only damaging if you want to comb them out.
I'd probably do that,
but I really hope, that
it's going to be
years from now.
I'm not sure if I won't miss my hair. I mean, this hair.
It looks pretty stupid when it's straight - I have very straight hair, but
when it's curled up
it actually looks pretty cool
Anyway,
I decided to do it, so I'm just going to do it.
I'm willing to answer the questions you have.
Just please, be civilized about it.
So,
that's pretty much it.
I'm getting back to you in a while.
