I only got to know about Bible Knowledge when I was in Form 5
and decided to take it up then.
But with His guidance, I managed to study two year’s syllabus in one year
and I even scored an ‘A’ for it!
Praise the Lord! I got a total of 11A’s in SPM.
After SPM, I landed myself in a one-year matriculation programme
by the Ministry of Education of Malaysia
and was sent to a matriculation college in Kedah
That was kind of a big challenge for me.
Leaving home for the first time to a place which is 10 hours from home,
and on top of that, I need to do chores on my own. *laughs*
But I really thank God. I have great friends there in my college.
A few Christian friends and I went to a church in Kedah too.
Our pastor, Pastor Leonard, was very caring.
My ambition is to become a dentist, an orthodontist, to be exact, since Form4.
As you all know, Dentistry is the most difficult course to get in Malaysia.
Even tougher than medicine!
We need a CGPA of 4.0 and co-curricular marks of 98 and above
to obtain a place in University of Malaya to do Bachelor of Dental Surgery.
I was very worried because even if I’m able to get a CGPA of 4.0,
it’s still very difficult to get co-curricular marks that high.
The only way was to take part in the
national level inter-matriculation college sports games.
And for your information, I’m not good at sports.
So I prayed. I said “God I’m not good in sports.
But I need really high marks to get into the course I want."
"God I know You will help me. Please help me.”
And one day, I saw a poster on a notice board
about an audition for a Malay song singing competition.
Wow! I didn’t expect that singing competition would be
one of the gamesin the national level sports games.
I mean, it’s a sports game.
And since when was singing considered a sport? Right?
But I auditioned for it anyway.
My college only needed two singers and I was chosen as one of them!
Praise the Lord! And with that, I entered the competition.
And guess how many marks I got?
A perfect score of 100 marks! Praise the Lord!
Ephesians 3:20 says
“Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly
beyond all that we ask or think,
according to the power that works within us”
After a year in matriculation college,
I successfully got a CGPA of 4.0, co-curricular marks of 100,
excelled in the interview, and got a secure place
in the University of Malaya to pursue dentistry. Praise the Lord!
I won’t be able to do all of these if it weren’t for our God.
He is the one who is always walking with me.
It is He, who provides all my needs.
And it is He, who is always faithful.
I’m just a sheep. He’s my shepherd.
I believe that God has a plan for me.
And he’s slowly leading me step by step.
I know He is always there and I can always count on Him.
I’ll continue to serve the Lord with all my heart
and to grow even more to understand His word
and share the gospel to my friends.
Our God is an amazing God.
And I want everyone to know about this.
I would like to thank all of those who had prayed for me,
including Pastor James, Pastor Leonard in Kedah,
my Jasin cell group members, Muzzafar Heights cell group members,
my parents, my family… Etc.
Thank you for all your prayers.
And ultimately, I would like to thank our heavenly father
for always guiding my path. He is always faithful.
One more thing, to all the young people, please take up Bible Knowledge!
You’ll be amazed how much you can learn about God through this subject.
And also, remember to love the Giver more than the gifts.
Thank you.
Now I would like to sing a song.
“You Are For Me”.
(Pastor James) Amen amen. Let's give God a clap offering.
What a beautiful testimony, what a beautiful song.
Thank you Violette.
I believe all of us are encouraged, especially the students.
Remember, nothing is impossible with God when you put God first in your life
and you trust Him for everything that you are pursuing
in your career, in your life, in your studies,
God will help you.
It's not that Violette has an extra brain.
It's just God's power and strength upon her
that God has blessed her and made it possible.
So we praise God for another dentist! Amen.
