Can a human eat upside down? and why ?
one day I was surfing the web and I found a question says
What if we eat upside down?
And I was surprised by some of the comments which said
NO .. Impassable ! .. you can NOT
And even one said: do NOT tray! because you'll die !
In my opinion, these kind of negative comments
which they don't stand on a scientific reasoning or studies
This thing limit the knowledge !
If there is someone ask a question
And another person replies by discouraging comments without any background knowledge!
This action kills the curiosity in who asked and limits the knowledge in who answered
Because he stopped any chance for any "thinking"
ALI .. ALI
What do you speak to me ?
Can you eat upside down?
I don't know .. try it
I ?! .. yes yes .. I can do it !
Film me .. film me
It's delicious
It's delicious
Clearly, we can eat upside down
Because of the peristalsis in the esophagus
This helps to move food from the mouth to the stomach.
And NOT because of the gravity like some believes
For this we notice astronauts can eat
upside down .. on sides .. up .. and down
Without the existence of gravity
I have another question
If a human on earth OR in space
The acting force on esophagus is constant
In another words, if he is on earth then the force acting on him is the weight caused by the gravitational acceleration
And if he is in space then the force acting on him is zero
And "zero" is a value which is constant
In both cases the acting force on the esophagus is constant
But .. can a human eats upside down when he is under different forces?
For example, when he jumps with a rope attached
To clarify
We have two cases
In case of a "free fall" the forces acting are
The weight (due to gravitational acceleration) downwards
And air resistance force upwards
Usually its value is small so we neglect it
In case of jumping while attached to a rope
Then, the acting forces are the weight towards down
Air resistance and the tension force by the rope
Note here at the beginning of the jump the tension force is zero
However, when we reach the max point
The rope get stretched thus it has a value and directed upwards
My question at this point
Can a human eat when he is under two different forces?
The Weight force downwards and the Tension force upwards
We choose the highest place in Europe for bungee jumping
Here at south of France between the Alpes Mountains
The bridge's height is more than 100 m
I'll jump from it .. while eating !!
The idea is to test if the esophagus's muscles still able to move the food
Even if there are different forces acting on it
This experiment is dangerous Don't try it at home or anywhere !
Welcome dear viewers .. we are here .. ready to jump soon from the bridge
Above more than 100 m !!
To test if a human can eat when he falls and there are different forces acting on him at one time
I'm scared !! .. my life depends on this little part here !!
I jumped !
As a result .. for me I couldn't do it !
I took a bite of the sandwich but I couldn't swallow it !
The problem was because of the blood pressure and the muscles were stretched
So I couldn't swallow anything
With the same conditions that I've been through, I think it's very difficult thing
For anybody to eat anything
The idea is: if there is a very strong pressure on the muscles, then the esophagus can't function well
Due to the effect of different forces acting on the whole body
So that the muscles can't function normally like in everyday life!
To sum up, we can eat upside down, however, we can't eat while falling
At least this is what we found out from this experiment
A questions for dear viewers: Which are the animals that can eat upside down?
