Grey wolves in the Northern Rocky Mountains have bounced back from near extinction.
They owe their rebound to the Federal Endangered Species Act,
but now the US Fish and Wildlife service has proposed removing wolves
from the Endangered Species list in Wyoming, Montana and Idaho.
If these protections are removed, grey wolves in these areas will be at the mercy of state
governments that have made no secret of their desire to resume widespread wolf
killing!
These majestic and mysterious predators are a cornerstone of the Northern Rockies
natural legacy and a key part of the fragile ecosystem of Yellowstone
National Park, one of America's greatest treasures.
Earthjustice is not going to let misunderstanding and fear spell the
death of this proud species.
But we do need your help to stand up to this threat.
