So one of the newest fads in the beauty industry are BB and CC creams, so I'm here to give
you some tips on the difference between them and which one would be best for you.
So, BB stands for Beauty Balm. Both BB and CC tend to be multi-taskers; that's why they're
so amazing, that's why they're so popular right now. Specifically BB creams, I love
as a primer; they kind of have more of that balm texture, beauty balm, so they really
minimize fine lines and pores, and they make your make-up just go on and stay on longer,
and it just looks beautiful. Other benefits to BB cream is they usually control oil, or
they moisturize, some have a little bit of coverage so you're correcting a little bit
before you're applying foundation, so then you can use a little bit less foundation,
which is nice, right? Or, if it's a day where you don't want too much coverage, you can
wear them alone, kind of like a tinted moisturizer. Another thing that's really cool about these
is that they usually have a higher SPF within them, so then you're cutting out that step
of applying SPF, and you don't have to find it somewhere else in your foundation, or your
moisturizer, it's just all-in-one in a BB cream.
So CC stands for color corrector. CC creams are pretty much the same as a BB cream, except
they have a little bit more of I'd say skincare benefits. So, a specific CC cream that I like
is the Peter Thomas Roth CC cream with Camu Camu, which is a very high concentration of
Vitamin C, which brighten, lightens, and tightens the skin. So over time it's going to fade
dark spots, sunspots, pigmentation, age spots, anything like that while also moisturizing
and giving your skin anti-aging benefits.
If you're looking for a light coverage BB or CC cream, I really like I would say, the
Boscha one. It's really good also for acne prone skin, it'll help with breakouts, controlling
oil, and like I said, light coverage. If you're looking for something a little bit more full
coverage, I do love Dior's. They have the Hydra Life and they also have the Nude BB.
The Hydra Life one is a little bit fuller coverage, a little more anti-aging, a little
more hydrating, and the Nude one is a little bit lighter, good for everyday, it does hydrate,
but it's not over the top. So that is my basic rundown of BB and CC creams.
