Whooping cough vaccines for pregnant women may reduce the risk of pertussis for babies.
I'm Erin White and this is a dailyRx Minute. Pertussis, or whooping cough, involves extremely
intense coughing that can last for many weeks or months and can kill babies. A recent study
found that giving mothers the Tdap shot, or the booster vaccine that protects against
pertussis, during the 2nd or third trimester of pregnancy may be a very effective way to
reduce pertussis in young babies. Ask your doctor about vaccine protection for
your baby. For dailyRxTV, I'm Erin White.
