Hi, it's Dow here at the Firehouse car wash and detail center. We today are teaching you
how to clean your vehicle, the engine compartment and the trunk like a professional. And we've
in previous segments talked about the engine, now we're go to start back here on the trunk.
Now, if you're detailing it as a professional for someone else, or for yourself, one of
the important steps is, removing all of the items from the trunk. This is an area where
a lot of people collect things. It's either neat and tidy, or it's not, and either way
we need everything out. The golf clubs, the wedding dress, whatever it is you're storing
back there, we're going to rip it out so we can get in, and we can do our cleaning and
do what we need to do. We like to have some bins around the shop, that way we can pull
everything out, put it right into the bin, and then set it aside next to the car. It's
impossible for us to move the car, without moving the bin. Moving the bin reminds us
to put the stuff in the vehicle. Because there's nothing worse, than as a customer leaving
the shop, and finding out later, that your personal items didn't get put back in the
car. Not only does it make for unhappy customers, you know, simply not enough storage room around
our shop to keep everyones personal affects until they can make it back to get them. So
get everything out, whether it's in a bucket, a garbage bag, a storage, whatever it is,
then we're going to work on it.
