this week the supreme court threw out a huge employment discrimination class
action lawsuit he s the rock retail giant wal-mart as many as one point five
million women had sought billions of dollars cuz they claimed wal-mart's
policies have led to discriminatory decisions over pay and promotions based
on gender the court will fighting for that person did not satisfy a class
action requirement that quote there are questions of law or fact comment to the
class how do you know what that means
it means that you have wal-mart was discriminating is all these women the
company was so big for the woman work is so many different places and hence could
not be considered a one group that could sing together
was little shapiro put it on hopping impose wal-mart was too big to sue
of course it was the course five conservative justices ruled in favor of
the giant corporation
but it's important to point out that the court did not decide if walmart had
actually discriminated against the women
they just inside of the women could not proceed in the class action suits this
is the subways worse because the court's decision will almost certainly affect
other class action suits the decision is tightened definition of what defines a
class action suit
idea why that's important because how long a worldly their final lawyer to
represent you he has a huge corporation if you just by herself
it won't be worth the money the lawyers would stand arguing the case
so why not allow workers to sue together for a common problem
the court has become the guardian of multinational corporations they have
made the powerful even more powerful and that's trucked away what little
protections the average man or woman had
misc overtones to print kore has never seen a giant corporation it didn't want
to help more or an average american it didn't wanna crotch
they had in these companies the ability thereby our politicians to citizens
united now they've given them the ability to discriminate against their
employees without any recourse the five concern just on the court might as well
work for corporate america but that ironically they would have less rights
than they do now
