Putting together a fashion illustration portfolio it combines a lot of elements. First of all
you don't want to be all over the place. You want to come from one point of view, a strong
direction. Basically you will usually start with an inspiration board. You will put together
a bunch of different things that have inspired you, colors, it could be a photograph. It
could be whatever you want it to be. Then you want to come up with a theme that you
want to carry through you portfolio. You want to have your clothes all have the same sort
of feeling.
You really don't want to be all over the place. Another great idea to incorporate separates,
gowns, different categories of the same concept. I could go on and on. There is great importance
on really getting your renderings to be really tight and beautiful. Take as much time as
you need, because that is pretty much representing you. When you hand someone that portfolio
that's you in their hands and that's what you want them to see. Point of view is so
important to come through from the second they open up that book. So work *** that
thing and make it perfect.
