That L.A. land deal may involve a different kind of football.
A major retailer chooses health care over cigarettes.
And what to do if you don’t like facebook’s video of your life.
That and more today in The Sift. Welcome to The Sift.
I’m gabrielle biondo, filtering through some of the most talked-about stories in St.
Louis. And the plot thickens... even more...regarding
that L.A. Land purchase made by rams owner and real estate developer Stan Kroenke.
According to the metro.. A U K paper.. and the blog.. Tribal Football..Kroenke heads
up a number of sports franchises.. including two soccer teams.
Tribal Football reports.. Kroenke plans to expand his soccer empire .. And wants to buy
a second MLS license in LA. That may explain that recent 60- acre land
buy in la.. Or maybe not. So you won’t be able to stop at c-v-s and
pick up a pack of smokes too much longer. Cvs will stop selling tobacco products in
all stores by october first. The drugstore chain says it will phase out
cigarettes, cigars and chewing tobacco .. And continue to focus more on health care.
The move will cost the company about 2- billion dollars a year.
Hey.. Did you see the look back video facebook make for you as part of its ten year anniversary?
They’re supercool.. Here are a couple shots from mine….. My family… and our holiday
celebration. I kind loved it. Fox 2 reports.. One st. Louis resident .. Chris
ward.. Marketing and communications director for kdhx.. Did not like his video.
He posted on facebook that he didn’t feel it captured his life correctly.. So he made
his own. It’s pretty awesome.. And has already received
more than six- thousand likes. You can find a link below to view it for yourself.
Ward says.. His original video is all bad jokes, cats and nick cage.
Speaking of cats and cages.. The weather is forcing stray rescue to slash adoption fees
for pets. Fox two reports .. The snow and cold brought
500 dogs, cats and puppies at the center.. And they need to find homes now.
So .. For the next 14 days. The adoption fee is dropping from $100 to $14.
That includes.. Your pet being spayed or neutered, micro-chipped, and you receive a full year
of training at no additional cost. Check the links below for more on these stories.
And… don’t forget to follow realtime stl on facebook, twitter, google plus and you
