what up guys today on in the cut it's winter travel season
and that means packing heavier bulkier luggage
I'm going to help you get the most out of what you pack whether you're going
on a trip for one week or one month
Alright so I have everything laid out that i'm gonna need
for a trip 8 pairs a long socks
six pairs of short socks which I might use for doubling up if my feet get cold
I one pair thermals I generally prefer two pairs of thermals
in case one gets wet I can dry the other one I have three pairs of pants
that's great for a two-week trip or two-month trip
you always need to have some versatility in your jeans and they need to be a
little bit looser so you can slide your troubles on underneath next I have nine
pairs of underwear
four tank tops a hoodie I'm also bringing t-shirts with me I have about
seven shirts that are used for layering
there a little bit looser as well so I can slide a tank top on underneath that
or
layer it with a long sleeve shirt there's five long sleeve shirts in my bag
two black two white undershirts that I can use and wash whenever I need to
five long sleeve button up shirts three that are casual
and two that are a little more formal for my night time activities
and then I brought a jacket a thicker hoodie and a sweater the jacket and the
hoodie
will come with me on the airplane no matter what I never pack them
they take too much space I have four pairs of shoes
to high tops one pair of sneakers and a pair of dress shoes
okay so here's where the fun start the first thing I always do is stuff my shoes
so I'll take my underwear my socks and my tank tops
and put them inside in my shoes saving me TONS space
in my larger shoes I usually put my thicker socks
they're easier to stop all the way in and I can get a few more pieces
and then at the top I just stuff the smaller pairs of socks
line
so I've got all my shoe stuff with socks and underwear and tank tops
the dress shoes I don't stuff because I like them to keep their shape
if I need to and I have extra stuff
I might shove a few pieces in there otherwise I usually keep my dress shoes
the way they are depending on your luggage you have to figure out how your
shoes fit the best
I know that shoes do not fit the best standing straight up
they usually fit much better when they're puzzled together
I'll usually put my shoes just like this into the corners of the bag
put this shoe across the bottom
of another shoe and I'll puzzle these two together
and these fit in here just like that so that case if you have something on the
bottom of your shoes or you're really crazy about what's on the bottom of your shoe
you got all your bottoms pressing into the outside the bag
and then don't stuff anything in between them and you'll be just fine
so you can see how this lays out its really really nice
I'll just get back with my last pair my dress shoes because I don't stop them
of that damn on each other on the side
sought to extra tank top thats really easy is just for the filler station just
are filling space up
because the issues don't have another place to go
I might end up doing something
like this just got that fit in there
it's just like a puzzle piece after I have my shoes finished
I go on to my next bulkier item and that this time is either going to be my
sweats
or my jeans and these are pretty bulky as you can see
but they're gonna fit right there in between my shoes
this particular oneI might put right along the bottom here
so for the rest of my jeans just finding a spot right on top of the shoes
so because I need a place for these jeans and this doesn't seem to be working
out since this is a smaller piece I can put it on the top probably
I'm gonna take that out and I'm gonna put my jeans in that space
that the hoodie was because it fits much better
so this is usually what the bottom of my bag always looks like I'm gonna add
electronics on the top here
I'm gonna add toiletries on the top here and I'm gonna close it and thats going to be
sealed off and done
but before I do that I'll show you how I do the t-shirts
when I travel for a long period of time
I have more shirts than I normally would on a shorter trip
because I like to have options and when I'm going for two weeks or two months
I'm gonna need them eventually normally when I pack for shorter trip
I would roll up all of my t-shirts but in this case I have the space
so I'm just going to keep the t-shirts flat and folded the way they are
just like this so I gotta stack up t-shirts now
and I know from packing so many times
that to roll my shirts in this case doesn't
save much more space than what I'm gonna take up
when the shirts are just like this so it up to you you have to know your luggage
you have to have used it alot and try lot of options
I have my thermals I still need to throw in the back then
the button up shirts are left normally I would just stack these on top in the
t-shirts
just like this but since I have space today
I'll put 'em right in there just like that definitely the collared shirts
are always going to be on top no matter what I'll slide those right on top
I have a nice place for my sweater right here
the last two things I'm gonna introduce is my Electronics bag
my toiletry bag as I said before I'm just gonna lay these right on top
so that is how I will pack for a long-term trip whether it's two weeks
three weeks or three months
