Hi, this is Sean Hobson, and what we want to show right now is one good drill that we
use to become really good passers. That is by using two basketballs in a semicircle.
You can use as many players as you want. Usually we'll use about seven or eight in one circle.
What this is, is it's a two ball passing drill. The main thing is, you're going to pass the
ball, and you've got to be looking for the ball at the same time. This is good for hand-eye
coordination, for really watching what's going on, and for paying attention. Not only for
this guy that's making the pass, but for everybody in the circle. They all have to know what's
going on. It's also a good drill to learn to catch the ball and get rid of the ball
quickly, and not hold it, not store it too long. So as you see this drill, the main thing
you want to remember is, you always pass in front of the ball. So when he makes the pass--we're
just going to walk through it--he's going to pass the ball here. He's going to get the
ball back. So he has to be watching. Now he's going to pass it ahead of him, and he's going
to get the ball back. Now he's going to keep going this direction. All right, stop. He
always passes ahead of the ball. Once the ball gets all the way over here, he passes
back in front of the ball again. Now, as the ball gets back around to here, Hunter is going
to move out of the circle, and Zack is going to rotate in, and Blake is going to throw
him a pass, then he's going to throw it ahead, and that's how the rotation works. You're
just going to keep rotating players through this drill as we go. Let's just go through
one time and show them what it looks like at full speed. Go. Good. All right, that's
good. So you see, it's quick. You've got to catch the ball, move it. Everybody's got to
be paying attention, everybody's got to catch, everybody's got to pass. This is two ball
semicircle passing.
