G'day everyone. Welcome to another Wasabicars video.
My name is Daniel O'Grady and I've struck gold!
It's Mazdas and a few other cars stored here. There's an engine being dyno-chewed next door.
Dyno-chewed? Dyno-tuned next door so I'm gonna shout a
bit. The first car I'm going to show you is this
LJ Torana 4-door. It's got a VN (Commodore) V8 engine.
They haven't massacred the engine-bay at all so that heater-box at the back, they've really
tried to make it fit in really quite nicely. They've done a great job there.
Let's work our way down the line. We've got an MX5, roll-cage. It's a customer's
car. It's got a high-compression, naturally aspirated,
MX5 engine in it. Good for about 160 hp at the wheels.
Let's move right along. Let's keep moving.
Now, this one here... this is a great looking car.
I've only ever seen one in Japan at the Mazda museum.
It's a pretty cool looking car. It's a bit grungy.
There's a bit of grunge, a bit of rust. But, it adds to the character.
Rotary Coupe, it's owned by a friend of yours? It's owned by a friend of mine, Adrian, who's
currently in Japan of all places. This is a 10A PP. Peripheral ported engine.
It looks so clean. Sounds beautiful. It's had a bit of an engine-bay restoration.
But, it's pretty much original more-or-less. We've got some Watanabes on there.
Pretty much standard issue in Japan. Okay guys. I'm gonna have to shout!
This one here is a bit more interesting. It's an RX3, and it's getting restored...
(Getting...) back on the road. Disk brakes, the brakes have been upgraded.
Clearly there's bits missing there. You can see the fenders.
Okay. This is your car? No, it's GT Auto Garage's.
That was raced in 2010 World Time Attack in Sydney.
It was the quickest rotary in the open class. Good stuff.
This is fairly interesting. Interesting for me because I in japan I never
see these on the road. I saw just one on the road. It was white like
this one. So rare.
What year is this one? This is '78.
It's one of the first ones that was built. Very low in the series.
It's a Savanna RX7. There's lot of Japanese safety stickers.
They're mad about safety. Lots of road-safety stickers on this one.
Fender-mounted mirrors of course. And this (one) tells the driver that here's
the corner of the car. Actually, this would've of recently come from
Japan because that Heisei 24... which is the current year.
It is the current year. So, it was last January I think.
Okay guys. We are back and shouting again. An RX7, and here we have a (Mitsubishi) Eclipse.
This thing is a bit of a weapon. Did you say this one came from the States?
It came from the United States. It's owned by a guy by the name of Andrew
Brilliant. This vehicle as been brought to Australia
with the view to possibly run in the World Time Attack 2013.
World Time Attack? Yeah, World Time Attack.
We shall se what happens over the next few months about getting it ready for that event.
We haven't got a plan as yet. But, that's the intention.
Good stuff. Looks pretty mean.
So... we've got a Clubman over there, which I'm gonna gloss over.
This is a really cool MX5. We won't pop it open, but it's really neat.
And, I like that colour, the blue & the gold rims.
Here, we've got an R32 GT-R.We've got R34 rims on that which I approve of.
And, then his one, guys. I mean... ... I'm in pieces.
I just love this car. A Luce Rotary Coupe.
Badges are missing but they've been put in storage so no-one lifts those.
RX87. Ah, this one is blue. The other one was gold.
I think that's a specification designation between the Deluxe & the Super Deluxe.
Yep. Okay, yep. Here it is. This Rotary, it's a ...?
13A. Mazda's only front-wheel-drive car they ever
made. What can we see?
Is that the steering rack? And, down there, guys.
The drive shafts. Really nice car, guys. I just love that.
Moving right along. Okay, now we've got a RX8.
RX7, Rotary Turbo. ... so, the rear bumper ... is not the original?
Really quite nice. Sorry guys. I can't really speak.
I'm just gonna skip over stuff. This one's interesting. A little Porter.
This one's a two-stroke, two cylinder, water cooled.
Porter. Pretty cool-looking, little car.
This one came from Japan, what year? It came in January last year (2012)
January last year, it came to Australia. We've got one more car to look at and it's
a parts-car. These are all Eunos Cosmo parts, of which
there are so, so many. And, that's one of the spare bodies that is
here. Yeah, parts galore.
Okay guys. I'm just gonna leave it there.
That's a quick tour of the cars in the storage garage.
Thank you very much for joining me. Take it easy.
See you!
