Hi. I'm Sam with Grocery Coupon Network. And today I'm gonna share one of my favorite shopping
and saving tips with you. And that is to BYOB; bring your own bag when you shop. Now many
stores offer incentives. And it not only helps the environment, but it can save you money
or help someone else out. So if you take your bag shopping, certain stores may offer a $0.05
or $0.10 bag credit.
Whole Foods is one that offers a $0.10 per bag credit. And one of the great things about
their program is you can donate their bag credit so their foundation. So you're kind
of helping people out without really having to do too much. But it adds up very quickly.
$0.20 or $0.30 per shopping trip can add up to a good amount, and lots of customers don't.
So you can get bags. You can order them or you can pick them up for free. Now, the big
thing is giving out bags at festivals and street events and walks. So you can pick up
some nice free bags. This one I got just from a street festival, and this one was part of
the March of Dimes walks, their little goody bags at the end can be used. So what I do
is I put all my bags together in the truck. So I'll put them inside each other and just
have one bag full of bags. And that way I never forget, 'cause used to what would happen
is I would go shopping and I'd forget to take my bags, and I'd getting all these paper bags
that I was bringing home or plastic bags, that I really didn't need.
So I put these in my trunk to remember to take them, and it's a really good way to save
a little money here and there and it adds up. Now, different stores offer different
incentives, so check to see what your store offers. Target, Whole Foods, CVS, they all
offer some kind of bag credit incentive. So check our posts to see the details of which
stores offer what. And don't forget to take your bags when you go shopping.
