Hey guys, it's Megan over at Rokform. I'm here today to walk you through the RokDock
for iPhone 5, and it will also soon be available for the Galaxy S3 and Galaxy S4. And before
I get started, I do want to point out that it is made in the USA, as many of our products
are, right here in Orange County, California.
Okay, let's go ahead and take the lid off and get a look at what's inside. First thing
you'll notice as I open it here is the included Torx driver. This is gonna help us insert
the lightning cable into the RokDock. Set of instructions, so if you're doing this at
home, make sure you take a look at those. And then last but not least is the RokDock
itself.
The RokDock is CNC machined from aircraft-grade aluminum, so it's nice and sturdy, a very
solid piece of metal. And once you have it on a surface you have a lot of weight there
so it's pretty much not gonna go anywhere. Okay, now I'm gonna take a moment to demonstrate
how to insert your lightning cable into the RokDock. Fairly easy, you're gonna use the
included Torx driver.
There's two ends to it, you're gonna use the thicker end at first to get the screws out
of the bottom. As I'm removing these, you'll notice the four anti-slip grips, those are
gonna help give you a little resistance if you're on a slippery surface, or it will also
help keep the RokDock from scratching surfaces. It lifts it up just enough.
So, once you have those screws out then you're gonna go ahead and remove that bottom portion,
and you're gonna take the top portion off as well. Okay, and the underside of the top
portion you're gonna notice this small hole there and that is for the end of your lightning
cable. You're gonna go ahead and feed that through.
And once you have that in place, then there's a much smaller screw here that you're gonna
use the thinner side of the Torx driver for. And you want to go ahead and tighten that
a little bit, just til you feel it a little tight. You don't want to tighten it too much
cause it could possibly damage the lightning cable.
Then you want to feed it back through the middle portion of the RokDock, like this.
And then we're gonna replace, that piece, just like this. Okay if we flip it over, you'll
notice there's a groove on the bottom, and we're gonna place the lightning cable along
that groove before we replace the bottom portion.
So, once that's in the groove, put that bottom portion back on. Then you're gonna put the
screws back in, and we'll tighten those up a bit. Okay, now that we have those tight
and in place, you're ready to go. The RokDock is compatible with many different cases using
this rubber insert here. You can simply adjust it to the place that best fits your phone
and case combination.
For instance, if you have just your phone with no case, you can go to a much thinner
adjustment here, so it'll keep your phone nice and secure. Or if you have a thicker
case, you can move this all the way back and it's gonna give you plenty of room to fit
both your case and your phone. Okay, for instance, I'll use our RokShield v3 for iPhone 5, move
it up just a little bit, and as I slide it in here, the backrest provides a nice secure
angle of adjustment and there you go.
Okay guys, that sums up our RokDock for iPhone 5 and soon to be Galaxy S3 and S4. Thanks
so much for watching and be sure to check out more at www.Rokform.com.
