Three reasons why you should not allow your children to sleep in your bed. I’m Michael
McGlinn. I’m a criminal defense attorney. I practice juvenile law in San Diego County,
California. First of all, we see too many cases of allegations of *** touching from
a parent to a minor. Those kinds of allegations can be devastating to your family, to the
person accused. Too often a young girl has gotten into the parents bed and next thing
you know she’s talked about her dad or the step-parent touching her inappropriately and
next thing you know social services is involved, the police is involved, your family is split,
you’re looking at serious potential prosecution. You’ll never get back; chances of getting
back with that family will be slim. You’ll lose your children; don’t allow it. Secondly,
there’s been cases of reported smothering where parents have accidentally smothered
their children and there’s been prosecutions as a result of that. Three: it develops bad
habits. If you allow your children to get away with it - I can understand maybe at some
once or twice or something - but if you allow them to get away with it, it creates terrible
bad habits. It’s going to affect your relationship with your spouse and will lead to circumstances
that will be devastating to the family in the long run. I know you’re going to have
questions about these issues. I’m Michael McGlinn. We deal with these issues on a regular
basis. Call me at 619-291-5115.
