JACOB SOBOROFF: Hey, it's Jacob.
Every day we bring you the best videos around,
and today we've got a floating motocross,
Mac Miller's in the house, and it's the world's tiniest
dictator. [CHEERING]
-Sup, YouTube Nation? [MUSIC PLAYING]
JACOB SOBOROFF: 16 dead, 82 shot.
It sounds like the casualty report from a war zone,
but sadly those are the homicide statistics
from July 4th weekend in Chicago this year.
Homicide Watch Chicago is determined
to put real human faces to those numbers.
This is the story of 19-year-old Cassius White.
-Cassius was one of the more exceptional teenagers
that I've encountered, and I've encountered a lot.
-He was funny, kept me laughing, I know that.
-He was just the nicest person ever.
Why would somebody want that for him?
I don't know.
I'm going to miss him.
JACOB SOBOROFF: The channel was created by the "Chicago Sun
Times" and their goal is to tell the story
of every *** in the city.
As of this morning, the current death toll
is 215 since the start of the year.
What's incredible about these videos
is they're put together right after the crime.
It makes them so immediate, and so impactful.
[MUSIC PLAYING]
MAC MILLER: What's up, YouTube Nation?
I'm Mac Miller, and you can check out my show
"Mac Miller and the Most Dope Family"
airing Wednesdays on MTV Two.
One of the coolest things about YouTube
is that it's a great place for artists to collaborate,
whether it be a visual artist with someone who makes music,
or two visual artists.
For this Music Monday playlist, we thought it'd
be great to talk about collaborations, most dope
collaborations in fact. "Objects in the Mirror"
is a collaboration I did with the internet.
We performed it in my living room,
kind of as a way to promote the tour.
What they're doing, what I'm doing, and just music.
[MUSIC - MAC MILLER, "OBJECTS IN THE MIRROR"]
There's a bunch more most dope collaborations.
You can check them out right here, or in the description.
JACOB SOBOROFF: I don't know a single baby that
doesn't grab somebody's attention, but 500 people?
Juke in video tipped us off to this.
Luke's parents always thought he was unusually charismatic,
and they proved it when they released this last week.
[CHEERING]
This is 500 campers at Camp Rockmont
in North Carolina. [CHEERING]
That kid is amazing, but he's got nothing on me.
Watch this.
Hey guys!
[CHEERING]
ALEX: I used to be sure to get eight hours of sleep
every night, but not any more.
Now I just watch this video all night long.
Red Bull released this video last week,
and it features the first ever floating motocross course
that they built on a lake in Munich.
-Local boy Luc Ackermann lined up
against the reigning champ Thomas Pages.
Luc attacked the course with a solid run
and shows why he is the future of freestyle motocross.
At just 17 years of age, he has found
a group he can definitely work with.
ALEX: I cannot wait for next year's tour.
They just announced that riders will be skydiving off
of a biplane into a volcano.
Just kidding, that's not true.
JACOB SOBOROFF: Bees create their own A/C, their own heat,
they can even change the taste of honey
based on the pollen they choose.
Mind blown.
Maddie Moate posted a vlog about her mom's beekeeping.
Fans had questions, Maddie had answers.
-The flavor of the honey will depend
on the pollen in the flowers that the bees go for.
So by planting lots of lavender around their home, hopefully
they'll go for the lavender instead.
JACOB SOBOROFF: And if you recognized Maddie,
that's because she's also the host of the BBC'S Earth
Unplugged channel.
DANNY: Hey YouTube Nation, you should watch the video
"Why Do We Gossip" by SoulPancake.
It kind of gives you insight on why we gossip
and how it can affect people in real life.
-We gossip because we have nothing better to do.
-I think to feel better about ourselves.
-It's kind of fun and it's kind of interesting.
-It's talking about someone.
It in no way, shape, or form helps you or helps them,
but if you talk to the person as opposed to talking about them,
you actually get somewhere.
JACOB SOBOROFF: Thanks, Danny.
We want you guys in the show.
If you've made or found a video that you love,
drop it in the comments.
All you've got to do is use the hashtag #YOUTUBENATION.
Now play us out, Tensnake and Syron.
[MUSIC, TENSNAKE FEAT.
SYRON - "MAINLINE"]
