FEROZ AWAN: No, this is not Quaid's Pakistan
Quaid-e-Azam believed in equality
QUAID: We need to sacrifice more to ensure Pakistan stays on the map forever
80-year-old Feroz Awan is witnessing the Independence Day in 2012 with sadness
But he still remembers the time when he migrated to Pakistan as a 15-year-old boy
FEROZ AWAN: I came to Pakistan after August
and even then, there were bodies scattered everywhere on our way to Pakistan
People who were migrating to Pakistan were willing to die
They were not concerned about the safety of their lives
They just wanted to reach their homeland
Feroz lives in today's Pakistan
But he wishes for a country which was Quaid and Iqbal's dream
Having spent 34 years serving the army and kept in Indian prisons for many years, Feroz knows the importance of freedom
And that is why, current situation makes him unhappy
FEROZ AWAN: I feel sad about what has become of Pakistan. There is no justice anywhere in the country
Terrorists are present here, people are being looted and there is no control of the situation
Even though Feroz's ideal Pakistan and the real Pakistan are centuries apart,
he is still not hopeless about the future
And he still hopes that the nation realises the value of the freedom they have got
and starts loving the country in real sense
The current situation of Pakistan does sadden an old person like Feroz
but the blessing of freedom has not disappointed him
And this is the reason why he still dreams about a successful Pakistan
