Hi, this is Caleb Kelly and we're going to go over some basic cleaning of the bolt and
bolt carrier assembly of the AR-15 rifle. A lot of gunk and stuff will build up here
on the back side of the bolt, so it's good to take a brush and clean off anything that
gets built up right there, it will build up on this rim right here, and on this ridge
right there. And, you should try and keep inside of the bolt clean, because that's where
the firing pin rides, and if it gets built up with, with fouling, is what they call it,
it won't function properly and you could have a, you could have some problems during firing
the weapon. Also, the pin that holds the bolt in the bolt carrier, make sure that, that
hole inside is clean and there's no obstructions, the firing pin also rides inside of there.
And, make sure that the inside of the bolt carrier is clean and that there's no debris
building up on any parts of it, and that it looks fairly clean. And, then apply some light
lubricant on top of the surfaces. Also, it's good to make sure that no brass is building
up on the face of the bolt, this could cause jams or, or other problems that you might
have while firing your weapon. It's also good to make sure that just, that it, the rings
look good on the back side and that it is just, that it looks clean, because if it's
not clean you will have problems while firing your weapon.
