Heta: Listen Alexi, you had a show yesterday and now you're here drunk. What's that about?
Alexi: Well, Heta, what happened was I had a show yesterday and today I had at least ten white russians and ten beers and ten of everything. So everything's great, can't argue with that.
We just stayed here to fool around for another day and that's it.
Heta: I heard that you have a vacation coming up, what are you planning to do during the tour break?
Alexi: I'm planning on staying at sweet home Helsinki and relax and be normal.
And it would be great if I could go to somewhere at the countryside, but there's nothing like that planned yet. We'll see.
Heta: You have much going on, Europe, Japan, and all others. And as far as I know you're also going to Thailand, where thigs are pretty exotic. What are you mostly waiting for in there?
Alexi: Well actually Thailand is the greatest thing we're waiting for right now, because first we have this German festival, then Moscow, after that we go to Thailand where we have one show and after that 5 or 6 days off.
And that means just that we're gonna go totally crazy, and if any of us is coming back alive, then we go to Japan and do 4 shows in there. And then we go home.
Heta: Are you planning to go topless in Thailand? Alexi: Yeah I'm thinking I will, and if all others could do that too it would be ok.
Heta: These festivals are pretty basic, always we have tents, free or less free drinks and we see same people that we see in Helsinki, what do you think is the attraction of festivals or is there any?
Alexi: If we're talking about festivals, I can go from zero level to ten. American festivals are the worst ones, really.
Heta: Why? Alexi: Well, they're not even really festivals. Their idea of a festival is that they have a big hall, not even a really big but anyway, where about 400 bands play during two days and they have 4 stages and...
This is not ***, I'm telling you!
When I played in New Jersey with Impaled Nazarene, there was one hall with two stages next to each other and one curtain next to them. I mean between them, excuse me.
And those bands played at the same time and there people drink Budweiser at some corner and the atmosphere is crap. That's not a festival.
In Europe we have Wacken and lots of great festivals, but Finnish festivals are definately the best. Here we have the best festival atmosphere.
Heta: Explain a little more. Alexi: Well in Finland we have this hippie thing going on, people ride some bikes naked all over the place and there is lots of different bands and different music. They're not all doing some...
...type of thing, you know. Heta: Okay.
Alexi: Yeah, there's different kinds of music and people dig pop and rock and metal and everything.
Timo: Was it the worst gig you've ever played? Jaska: No, it was pretty messed up but in the end it went better than average.
Henkka: It went better than we expected considering the circumstances. Timo: Were the circumstances bad?
Henkka: Well we were drunk and forgot to take any guitar equipment along so it was a bit fuzzy.
If we had snapped a string we would have been screwed but nothing happened so it was ok.
Timo: You played also at the Gods of Metal in Milano about a week ago, how was that? Henkka: Yes indeed, Timo.
Jaska: It totally sucked! *** crappy organizations and everything went straight to hell. Everything was bad in there.
Henkka: Except the audience was pretty good. Jaska: The audience was great. Henkka: It was the only good thing about it.
If something goes wrong in Finland, the organization works a lot better, but in Italy nothing works! Except the audience.
Henkka: During the last song the monitor guy turned off all monitors and gestured something to Janne. Janne can't hear a thing so he threw the keyboard like this to somewhere on the floor.
Henkka: Then he went to destroy the backstage drunk. Jaska: He totally *** the backstage up.
Henkka: A *** stupid thing for the monitor guy to do. So that was bad but at least we had a good audience.
Heta: Now that it's a little over midnight, how soon are we gonna see you naked since we are at a Finnish festival?
Alexi: Well, pretty soon I can promise that, because I've already had.. can't remember how many of these but pretty many anyway.
So the shirt is gonna start fluttering soon and pants are gonna go wherever and everything in general is going straight to hell so...
Heta: Ok, here we go!
