thank you for joining us in the second part of this week's Top Ten Tuesday.
Top ten best and worst movie adaptions.
As I told you in the first video, we're actually doing top three - top three
And this is Top Three worst book to movie adaptions ever.
In third place,
The Host by Stephenie Meyer
I... love this book. It's one of my favorite books ever. I adore every bit of this gigantic thing.
Until I saw the first trailer.
and realized that... they changed
a whole lot of things! While watching the movie I realized that they pretty much erased all that was good
and right in this book.
They just...
Missed the mark completely!
like one of the things that bothered me most about the movie
was Melanie's priorities. In the book,
Melanie cares most about her brother.
She lets the...
Seekers know about her lover first and her brother took months
until they find out about him. In the movie, she's like *snap*
There, you can have him!
but I keep my lover to myself because
my priority says my lover is number one and my family is, like, somewhere bellow.
Yeah, no.
It was so boring!
They made it into just, this...
love triangle thingy.
And it's not it, at all. And I saw people who were like 'oh yeah, that's, like, typical Stephenie Meyer thing,
Naw,
I'm not going to read it now. And I'm like, listen, no, no! This book is amazing, it's incredible.
It's not twilight. It's, like, ten times better than Twilight,
No, ten thousand times better than Twilight!
Don't judge
a book by its movie, please. This book is amazing,
the movie sucks,
Read the book.
The next two
book to movie adaptions I'm going to show you, I have not
actually finished watching.
I got somewhere in the middle,
somewhere in the start,
and said 'okay, enough torture.
Let's end this'.
Oh, and the only reason The Host is number 3 and not number 2 or number 1
is because I actually finished watching it. Yeah...
It's a great reason to be number three, don't you think?
In second place we've got Beastly by Alex Flinn. You see how it says here 'read it before you see it'?
I have a different version of that.
'Read it, and don't see it'.
I am pretty, passionately, hateful
of the movie. Aside for the fact for some reason,
instead of being a beast,
Kyle looks like a delinquent.
And I suppose that's because they wanted a main character that is attractive.
so that,
teenage girls will come see the movie
and i get it...
still bothers me... But the thing that really, really irked me was Vanessa Hudgens.
I have nothing against Vanessa Hudgens. I loved her in High school musical, and yes - I saw those movies.
Give me a break, I was young and, and,
very very impressionable.
anyways, I loved her there, but here, they completely took the character and changed her personality, for something like this
spunky
punk, pop
punk thingy going around, I don't know.
and it was really really weird,
and it was really really different
than the book,
and I dunno. I just watched
I think twenty minutes of the movie, and I was like;
you know what?
I can already see where this is going,
uh... I love the book, I will stick to the book, because obviously it is much better,
and, uh, yeah...
No... no.
And in first place, I'm smiling
but inside I'm dying. It's Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief. What the heck was that?!
I did not finish that movie. I watched it with my cousin and...
half way through I was like;
okay, just please shut it off. I got it, I got it, please, please! No, no more!
What did they do here?!
I mean, there is the plot-line and then there is the movie plot line.
Between this and that
there is like a sea,
a river,
or a lightning bolt or something that stops it from EVER connecting! What is that?
I mean they, they, they
they made, they made, the, tha- uph.. They took
a little little
tiny bit of the plot here, and made it the entire purpose of the movie!
And why is Annabeth a brunette? I mean,
the girl is cute enough, but, all of Athena's children
have
blonde
curls
and gray eyes, so...
why does she have brown hair?
And excuse me. the fact that they changed her hair to this dirty blond in the second movie... The heck?
So suddenly you DO have hair-dye? Wonderful. Great.
Also, they're older than they should be.
And I totally get it, because they want teenage girls to come to the movie and swoon over Logan Lerman, I would do that too because I love the guy, but,
even her could not save that movie for me. I am a very critical movie viewer, and this one just pressed
all the wrong buttons and I could not...
I saw red, I literally just saw red because I was, like, What the F? What the F
have you done to the book? I love this book, I love this series, I love Rick Riordan, omg... he's like...
I would worship him if I could.
Which I suppose I can. But that'll be really weird,
So I don't.
But anyways... no.
Like, major major no-no. Nope. No.
I feel like crying every time I think about this movie because...
It's just...
This was ***. This was ***. They took the book and they murdered it, and
they butchered it, and they ripped
It's heart and pages and everything out of it.
My cousin tells me because she watched the movie before she read the book that as a movie, on its own, it's good.
But I can't really...
You know, separate these, and and,
There is too many feels,
Bad, bad feels, about this movie for me. I would not recommend
a fan
of this series to watch it,
if you're not a fan of the series you probably will not mind the changes,
because you won't know there are changes... yay...
anyways
this is my first place and I hope I would never watch a book-to-movie adaption that would aggravate me more,
because that would be a really, really
sad day
to movies out there,
Thank you guys for watching
and if you've not watched my top three
favorite
book to movie adaptions, definitely check that one out too.
uh...
I had a really great time making this video which is kinda silly because
I really hate the movies we're talking about here,
but talking about how much I hate them is kind of fun.
I hope to see you again
in next week's top ten tuesday,
and again check out the first video of this week top 10 Tuesday, which turned into
Top Six Tuesday, which turned into Top three-top Three Tuesday, but... yeah, yeah.
And I hope to see you on the blog, aaaannndddd
talk to you soon!
