Narita Yukawa Station is located at the Narita City, Chiba Prefecture (east of Tokyo) and belongs to Keisei Narita Airport (Narita Sky Access) Line.
This station started the service on the 17th July, 2011, when the Keisei Narita Airport Line opened in its entirety. So, This is the newest station in Keisei Railway as of June 2011..
I'd like to show you scenery of this station, and trains arriving at and departing from this station in this movie.
The three-story elevated building is the Narita Yukawa Station on the Keisei Narita Airport Line. It seems like a station for Shinkansen.
The broad station square is built on the land of bus garage.
This station has a daily ridership of 878 passengers, but there seemed to be few people on the rainy holiday.
The JR Narita line is under the Narita Yukawa Station, but JR doesn't have any plan to built platform along the station.
Passengers need to pay 440 yen to go to Inba-Nihon-Idai, on the west of Narita Yukawa, and 500 yen to go to the Narita Airport Terminal 2, on the east of Narita Yukawa.
Only the Access Express trains stops at this station. The trains come every 40 minutes.
The first floor of the station is a ticket gate, and there are three automatic wickets and a restroom.
The escalator connecting between 1st and 2nd floor was stopped because of energy saving. I had to use stairs.
The sound of my step echos because of unmanned and high-ceilinged building.
The 2nd floor is the concourse connecting track 1 and 2. The left side is the platform for Keisei-Takasago, while the right side is the platform for the Narita Airport.
There is nothing but garbage boxes on the floor. I wish there would be some exhibited local objects.
The escalator connecting between 2nd and 3rd floor was available.
There is six escalators and three elevators in this station.
The 3rd floor is side platform. You can see two siding tracks and two passing tracks.
I could see passengers only when the trains stops. During my stay for 3 hours, the passengers on the platform never numbered over 10.
The greatest attraction in this station is passings of limited express trains at 160km/h (this is the fastest speed in Japanese local lines).
Soon after "green green" signal meaning permission to pass at 160km/h, you can hear the roar of SKYLINER.
