bjbj I want to show you how to make a graham cracker pie crust, because I found Key Limes
at the grocery store and I'm really, really excited. Okay. Super, super easy, and this
is all you have to do. Now I don't like to have to deal with a lot of fussy measuring
if I don't have to, and in this case you don't have to. You only have to take one little
package of graham crackers, you get a box that comes in three packets. Take one of those.
I crushed mine up in the food processor. You don't have to. If you don't have a food processor,
take a plastic bag, throw them in there and just smack the fire out of them until you
get crumbs like this. But this is all you need. This is about a cup and a half to two
cups of graham cracker crumbs. You don't have to worry about being real exact. I use one
packet. Six tablespoons of butter, almost a full stick, not quite. You don't want too
much more butter than that because it will get greasy. You don't want greasy. All right.
About a third a cup of sugar, and you don't want more sugar than that, as delicious as
it might be, because we're going to pre-bake this in the oven to use it with a cream pie.
There goes my dog. We're going to use this with a cream pie. So, pre-baking it with that
much sugar it in means that we would get it too dark too quickly before it sets. So this
is what you want. Can you see the texture here? Nice big, fat, crumbly, and you know
what? I swear I make this stuff. Yeah. I have a friend of mine that makes brownies and never
bakes them off. They'll sit and watch movies and eat the brownie batter with a spoon. I
think I could do that with this. So this is all there is to it. I mean, you mix it up,
and then you get a pie plate. I think this one's a nine-inch pie plate. I'm not sure.
This is my chicken pot pie, pie plate. So it's a little deeper. Then you just press
it in, and this is it. Well it better be somebody bringing me a present if he's barking like
that. By the way, I'm imminently bribable. I take gifts, especially anything that's sparkly.
All right. So, this is all we're going to mess with. I've got all our holes filled,
pretty even. Now I love to bake and I want the food to taste delicious and I like it
to look good. But I'll tell you this right now. I am not a decorator of any kind. So
if you're looking for the most beautiful pies you're not going to get them. You're going
to get the most delicious, which I think is better. Okay. So I've got a 350-degree oven.
I'm going to pop that in there for probably eight minutes and I'll be back in just a second.
That's all there is to it. See? Nice and pretty. It gets a little darker. I only gave it about
eight minutes, and the thing is, if you want to, you can take the time to make your edges
all even. But, this what you may not realize if they're not even, nobody knows when you
take cook's prerogative. All right, this one is getting a filling of key lime, so we'll
be back in a minute. [Content_Types].xml _rels/.rels theme/theme/themeManager.xml sQ}# theme/theme/theme1.xml
