Hey guys!
Finally it's OCTOBER!
And it got a little cooler but not really...
When I hear October I think...
HALLOWEEN
I LOVE HALLOWEEN
I've loved Halloween since forever
even though it's not really a thing in NZ I STILL LOVE HALLOWEEN
So today I'm going to make a mini Jack O'Lantern!
Because these are the most common pumpkins in Japan around Halloween
Anyone can do this! Even me.
Even kids can do it! But not alone!
In Japan it's common not to carve a Jack O'Lantern but to stick stickers to it
which is definitely easy! But I prefer making them!
Here's what you need:
A pumpkin - even a small one!
A knife!
A spoon!
A lighter (but the stick kind is better)
A tealight candle
and a marker.
Let's start off by drawing a circle at the top and the face!
Any kind of face is fine!
I'm going to draw what I always draw...FANG!
Now let's cut the top out!
This can be pretty hard with a small pumpkin so take your time.
Take the top off and cut off all the pumpkin guts
LOTS OF GUTS
Use a spoon to get the guts out!
Cut out the eyes and mouth
Once it's out make it look all pretty!
Time for the mouth!
I re-drew it because it was all lopsided...
And let's wash his face!
Candle time! This is how I do it.
Would love to see pics of your Jack O'Lanterns on twitter!
