Hi! Welcome to the VividBeats KickStarter preview, I'm the creator, Steven Barna, here
to give you a brief overview of what a BeatBar is, how it works using VividBeats, and why
it surpases many other lighting displays in both cost and music syncronization. You can
sign up to be notified when the kickstarter launches by entering your email at www.vividbits.com.

This Is a BeatBar. Its current dimentions are 22" x 1 5/8" x 7/16" and contains 16 RGB
Leds capable of thousands of color combonations. The BeatBar connects to your computer and
flashes brightly whenever a kick drum is detected, thus the name. It will also continually display
information about the volume, claps, symbals, snares, and the pitch of the lead instrument
detected. The result is a portable lightshow which is extremely quick and easy to set up,
and is synced completely to your music. As I like to say, all you have to do is plug
in, play, and party.
I've chosen a wooden encloser for the BeatBar to distiguish it from every other boring black
plastic electronic casing. This not only gives it a beautiful handmade finish, but also has
the added benefit of making it an excellent addition to any wallspace you choose to attach
it to. The BeatBars comes in 9 different colors, Ebony Black, Ocean Blue, Forrest Green, Driftwood
Grey, Royal Mahogany, Sedona Red, Walnut, Pure White, and Faded Wood.

The
BeatBar connects to your computer via mini USB and is controlled by software which I've
dubbed VividBeats. VividBeats is responsible for detecting musical patterns in realtime
from any audio source on your computer. Unlike other lighting displays, VividBeats has access
to the pure audio signal sent to your speakers, meaning a much wider range of instruments
can be instantly detected than other far more expensive lighitng fixtures. This means the
BeatBar works great with practically any program, including internet radio like pandora and
DJ Software like Virtual DJ.

The seconds function of VividBeats is a music visualizer interface. With VividBeats' realtime
instrument detection, high quality syncronized effects are easy to produce by any third party.
Of course, the specific interface is still being refined, but i've used it to create
an effect which simulates what hanging 5 BeatBars on your wall would look like. After the bugs
are flushed out, you can download the demo and see the dynamic lightshow VividBeats generates
with your favorite music! Speaking of the demo, right now VividBeats is in the alpha
stage, and if you are running windows Vista or newer, and interested in helping flush
out any bugs send me an email at Steve@vividbits.com and i'll send you a demo candidate. If you
are a c++ developer and would like to devolope effects for VividBeats, plase let me know
as well, as i'd like to gauge interest in VividBeats' music visualizer plugin.
Thats all for now! Thanks much for watching! I really appreciate the time you took to view
this and I hope you are excited for the next level in personal light show technology. If
you'd like to stay up to date on the project, you can like my companies facebook page at
