We’re at the rehearsals for the Inrockuptibles Festival at the Cigale Theatre, for a week of rock music madness.
We worked on the Casino Shopping concept with
And one day – bam – there it was!
And bam – there it was…
And the crazy thing is that for the same space, the new Casino Shopping supermarket increased sales by 2½ compared to the previous Petit Casino supermarket.
When you chose your husband or your wife, you didn’t create an Excel table with columns for assiduity, concentration, measurements…
Isabelle, sit down – do you want a coffee? Isabelle, you’ve done very well – your score is 8.25, which is very good.
But Aurore got 8.75
so she’ll be the love of my life.
Don’t cry, Isabelle. I promise, I went over the numbers twice
and Aurore’s the winner. Nope, that’s not real life.
I always said that she would be a tall brunette,
but in fact she’s a small blonde and we’ve been going strong for 20 years.
And Casino Shopping is the same: it was supposed to be a small square but instead it’s a big circle
with rock and roll touches too.
You see? You need to drive home the intuition every time. You hear it? ***, ***, ***, ***…
The intuition here is that people are not going to go food shopping anymore; they’re going to go life shopping, pleasure shopping.
And to achieve this we broke down the retail codes: no more neon tubes and white tiling. Instead we have curved shelving and a reception counter replacing the row of tills.
Last week a journalist asked me “Is there a major new trend in marketing? Is there one big thing going on?”
And I replied, no – not really. Aah but yes – there is one thing. There’s a massive marketing trend coming from Asia because seeing as now everyone’s in mourning in Europe, in Asia things are looking rosy and Shanghai is extraordinary.
So in fact there is a major trend and it’s called marketONG.
It’s a marketing evolution, an Eastern marketing.
And at Casino Shopping supermarkets, like with marketing, there are stacks of INGs :
snacking, dry cleaning, bakering and lots of new services
that you don’t see here like photocopying and home delivering.
Long live marketONG.
Last week I went to see Drive, L’Artiste and Polisse and I cried in every one. So, there you go.
