alright, welcome back again
this is thecore3 (thec0re3 gamertag)
fighting game definitions
and were going over part 3 of our 5 part definitions for combos
today were going to be going over juggles
I will show you how juggles work and the...
type of conditions that will allow you to juggle
now the character I'm using right now
he is basically
a juggle character
juggling is more so what he does than anything
so let's get into..
his main move, his special move that focuses on the juggle
which is this here
as you are watching
notice your opponent is kind of..flying into the air
and you might notice its taking him..
some time to land on the ground
now as you go along (tra la la la la)
you just might decide
"he is taking quite some time to come down"
"maybe I should poke one of my moves out there"
and (surprise) it lands that is basically how I discovered juggles
just seeing the character land and saying maybe I could add a move
so basically that is juggling
um..
essentially if your opponent is vunerable
while he is in the air after he gets hit
and that is a move that causes knockdown
(repeat)
that ultimately puts him in what you call
a juggle state
now you'll see this in certain games a lot
one good example of a juggle heavy fighting game
is tekken
another
another good example
is...
marvel vs capcom
when you see an opponent get knocked in the air (in marvel vs capcom)
you start an air combo. You can kind of consider that to be a juggle
you will also notice
there are certain
instances where you'll see
a juggle being continued
in certain games
and were going to go over that in just a few
I want to get back into the initial idea.
Of course once you've gotten past
just using a normal move to disover the juggle state
you might think "hmmm"
"can I use a special move in there"
you're going to find most times you can
depending on what the character does
you see in this case I basically use three special moves to juggle my opponent
so you know something you really start to think about
you know, how many special moves can I use
how many super moves can I use
to get my opponent to stay in the juggle state
now the other thing you want to think about
looking for juggles in other instances
and one instance you can look for juggles in
is with a counter. Okay. If your not familiar with counters
its essentially when an opponent attacks
and I land my own attack before their attack lands
that is usually what a counter is
in most cases they'll be an indication
if you look to your left you'll see a indicator
to let you know that you've landed one
in the case of most counters they have special properties
with Kyo..
I'm going to use this special attack called blow back attack
and what you'll notice is I am able to strike my opponent more than once
now, if I take off the counter option
I'm not able to do it.
but with it on
I am able to juggle my opponent
it basically made my opponent a little more vunerable
you see I can land extra attacks
Of course there certain things that your not going to be able to do
like certain special moves..
but you kind of get a raw idea of how
you can use these attack to put your
opponent into a juggle state
which will give you more damage than you normally would have
so that is another example where you have an opportunity to use juggle.
in other cases you're going to see
certain things happen to character when their put into juggle states
I can't do it with this character
but in with other character and in other games
you might see them bounce off the wall there is also something called
off the ground where a character will hit the ground
and bounce off the ground you will see a lot of that in marvel vs capcom 3
you'll also see it in tekken too
so those are the kind of things that you want to look for
when you're trying to juggle your opponent
so that is essentially it. Juggling in a nutshell
now you want to go into the practice room
and see if it's possible for you..
to create juggles with your character
so the next video
we'll get into creating combos for certain situations
and that basically..
now that you have a grasp on how to do combos
now you want to figure out..
how am I going to get in with these combos
and actually create some damage
so will be getting into that
alright, have fun and catch you later
