What’s up, everyone? Naomi here with your Fix for Wednesday, October 12th.
On Monday, we found out that Mass Effect 3 will have multiplayer, but there are a few
important details we didn’t know until today. Like most EA games now, in order to play the
game’s four-player co-op mode, you’ll have to either buy the game new, or purchase
an Online Pass from EA. As previously reported by IGN, multiplayer will be a part of Mass
Effect 3’s Galaxy at War system which integrates with mobile phone apps, Facebook, and the
BioWare Social Network. Hit up the link below to see a brand new video about Mass Effect's
co-op. Yesterday, as part of their “Zynga Unleashed”
press conference, the social gaming giant announced a whopping five new projects. The
first is zTag. Much like a Gamertag, each player will have their own “zTag” for
social games. Not many details were given but this somehow fits into their mysterious
Project Z...which we're guessing is a social network just for social games. zTags will
allows gamers to start playing a game on facebook and then carry their progress over to Project
Z. Zynga’s other four announcements were all games: Castleville, Zynga Casino, Hidden
Chronicles, and Dream Zoo. For more info, check out the link below.
Planning on buying Uncharted 3? Well, if so, you probably don’t need any more convincing,
but here's more good news! Included in all retail copies of the game is a code that will
gain you access to next year's Starhawk beta. Not a bad deal.
But the real news of the day for Drake fans is our IGN Prime Uncharted 3 Takeover event.
We’re giving away 130 tickets to the “Play It Live in 3D” events and a bunch of copies
of Uncharted 3. Our very own PlayStation team will be hosting some tips and tricks videos,
as well as a live stream of the festivities. For more info about how YOU can win, head
to the link below. Before we go, I wanted to make sure all the
Apple junkies out there know that iOS5 is available for download RIGHT NOW. So, make
sure to update your iPhones and iPads and let us know what you think of the new interface
in the comments section below. And that’s your Fix for October 12th, 2011.
I’m Naomi Kyle and be sure to get your Fix anytime online here, at IGN.com.
