Let's talk about how to avoid scams in the beauty pageant. They are very simple ABC rules,
very common sense rules. How to avoid pageant scams. There are people who will try to play
you. If there is a pageant that you never heard of, and the organizers are something
you never heard of I say do a background check, check with modeling agencies. If no one has
heard of them, keep a look out on strange things. Usually there is an entrance fee to
enter a pageant. If it's something really three digit numbers and more, check it out.
Where is it going to, get a receipt, don't just do a money transfer and be done with
it. Check who they are, who the money went to, what you are getting in return, what do
they cover. If you are going to a location far away, to a country far, far away, where
you don't even know the language, you should check where your country's embassy is, to
make sure that in case there is no pageant at all for instance, that you can make sure
your safe return to your home country. In pageants you meet people who want to offer
you work. Which is really good, but they're strangers never the less so if you plan on
meeting them, you should meet them in a public place. Let your friends know where you are.
Or the other pageant girls to know where you are and to check with you that you are ok.
Never meet them in their homes or even offices that's a little suspicious. Always pick a
public place, a restaurant is fine for meeting. Keep your portfolio with you, it's very useful.
Sometimes the organizers forbid meeting with other people while you are in a pageant, you
should respect that. If they say no, then it's a no. I wouldn't take the risk for meeting
someone against their will. They might send you back to your country and you are done
with the pageant. But if it's ok with them, you should also let them know that you are
meeting someone so that they can take care of you and check with you that you're ok.
And those are, those are the ABC's for avoiding scams in the pageant.
