Legalization: Suppression of prosecution, who produces, sells or uses illicit substances.
Decriminalization: Removal of penalties for those who carry or consume illicit substances.
Some public figures, governments or organizations warn that the immense resources for war against drugs
have not yielded the expected results.
The solution: legalize and / or decriminalize.
But what opinion are those who work, live or deal with drugs? Listen to them.
The studies that have been done in other countries show
why prevention is less expensive than the treatment,
which for every dollar spent on prevention we're saving between five and eight pesos or dollars.
Politicians do not consider this, because it does not generate immediate results,
so,they do not generate votes or do not see it profitable.
In 1994, the Constitutional Court decided to decriminalize the drug use,
however you should keep some points in mind.
1) The consumer should be done at home or in private, not in public places.
2 ) Pregnant women can not consume because these substances harm the baby.
3) minors should not take drugs, because they damage and slows the brain evolution.
By legalizing these crops , we would say it is the same plant coca and cob ?
So, they can receive subsidies and government assistance ?
That is an issue that should be discussed . Also what would be the point of distribution,
drug stores , stalls ? The problem is not only how many people die from using drugs ,
you should also consider the social field.
My name is Alberto Lopez, I was a system engineer,
I had a family and I was a university professor,
I get my own money and even do a couple comercials for tv.
25 years ago I get on to the drugs,
I start whit basuco, since then I have been going to the “ollas” to consume.
I sell everything, and spend everything in drugs.
The decriminalization is the first step to the legalization, and before the legalization,
we can end the drug trafficking, and avoid a war like the liquor war
in EE.UU during the prohibition.
Also, the legalization brings the end of drug trafficking, better conditions of salubrity,
security and the end of the violence in the streets between the gangs.
Also, i really dont know what i´m buying,
i dont know what they put in to the drugs to they sell to me.
Good Evening. Given the current situation is not suitable for young people,
to discuss the legalization of drugs, the country is not prepared to see around every corner
a young boy destroying his life, we must intervene immediately to these young
people who are on drugs and act whit prevention campaigns and support
to the people who are already in the world of drug addiction.
This does not mean that the government should support new liberal
thought from some councilors, mayors and other representatives of the
Colombian government, who really wants is to wash his hands supporting and
giving ideas for drug legalization.
We have to be aware of our children at home, institutions and other
establishments who interact with the formation of our children.
We will not allow the act of drug abuse becomes normal, such as smoking, and drinking alcohol.
i think that the law to the legalization of drugs, is a good law and it could be help a lot to all the
people and all my friends and all my parceros. It would be a good law, it wouls be less crime
and less homicides and it would be good for our country in a future
we can not legalize the drugs, think in our children, the can not se the older poeple consuming drugs.
i think your opinion is valid, but i agree whit our gest
This is a thing why the drug legalization must become a reality whitout forget a couple
of roules about our children and pregnat women
