Hello, my name is Pilar Williams. I am the manager of Hispanic Outreach Services,
and my program has to do with helping the families in every type of situation.
For example, one the things that we do at The Arc is we offer translation services.
Sometimes we take the families to their medical appointments when they need it. We offer translation services for schools -
with monetary funds, such as reimbursing for diapers, doctors visits, medicines
- depending on everyone's situation.
What makes The Arc different in terms of the program?
Our program is different than others because we offer personalized services
to each family, depending on their situation. When a family contacts me, in that case, I go to their homes,
see what their needs are. If they need for example, clothing, food, or donations,
and we also look for other agencies that can help with that, as well.
What do you like most about your job?
My favorite part of this program is to see the smiling faces of the families that we serve
and at the end of the day the needs of the families are fulfilled
with what we offer through donations and family support services.
