44 players from 33 countries.
You're here to hopefully win a place at the Nike Academy.
Every day we train with intensity, speed and desire.
The level is high.
You can see it from the pace they're able to maintain throughout the match
and from the passing technique.
It will be hard work for you.
I expect you to express yourselves as best you can.
To give everything you can.
And not go away saying I should have done better.
You've got to be in love with the game. That's the key to it for me.
I've always loved beautiful football, looking after the ball, like we do in Peru.
And that's what I love.
Football is my passion.
Being a 16 year old at England's training ground.
It's a dream.
These boys have just got to enjoy themselves as much as they can.
Listen to what the coaches are saying,
how they can develop and improve and express themselves.
It's a great atmosphere
What better place than St.George's.
Passing has to be good.
In tight areas you've got to make quick decisions.
Your touch has go to be good. Your passes have got to be crisp and accurate.
You can see a footballer, you can see the way he moves.
His balance, his technical ability on the ball.
How he passes the ball.
Can he manipulate the ball, can he move the ball side to side and juggle it.
Does he individually express himself but also as a team player?
That trick on the ball, that little flair needs to be for the team, not just for himself.
A few players stick out quite early.
He talks doesn't he, the big fella.
Talking, communication isn't bad.
Pass quicker, quicker.
The language could be a little bit of a problem,
but football's a world game.
They'll do their talking on the pitch.
Off the field their social and psychological aspects are going to play a big role.
It's all about hard work and sacrifice.
Keep going and first of all, believe in yourself.
Don't forget to play with a smile,
because football first is to enjoy.
Today is a new day.
Now this is a chance for you to start expressing yourself in competitive football.
We're always looking for the same thing.
It's football intelligence, to show that they understand the game.
When to run, when to stand still, when to pass, when to take someone on,
and how to defend properly as well.
You so so heavily rely on your team-mates.
You need to be a team player.
Fitness in any sport, especially in professional football,
is paramount to helping you become a better player.
You may have the technical and tactical ability,
but if you aren't physically strong
and have those attributes then it's going to be really hard for you to succeed at the
top level.
Once we've assessed them in all these areas,
we've got a really good idea about their physical performance levels.
It's been a very long day.
Everybody is tired so now it's up to the mental strength to keep working hard.
Their whole effort now for the next 12 or 14 hours
until we congregate again and start training
has got to be focussed around match preparation for tomorrow morning.
It's called the chance for a reason. It is their chance tomorrow afternoon.
We're going to get ready for the 11s v 11s against the academy.
I'm a little bit nervous but I'm fit and ready to go today. If there's anyone coming for
my positive then I'm prepared to work even harder.
I'm actually at this point where I can change my life right now.
It's a chance to start your professional career. Everything could go your way from this day forwards.
You need to be yourself.
If you're good at passing short, you pass short.
If you're good at blocking, you block.
Good luck, enjoy the afternoon.
He's done well there the big fella he's done well.
That individual skill is good but that's only a small segment of the cake.
His understanding of the game.
I think he's brave and he's got a presence about him.
Go on Dylan!
What a catch that was by the way.
We're trying to play for their places, so I thought we did quite well.
Great take.
Well done.
What a good ball that is.
You're in trouble now.
You're in trouble now.
It was a good experience but it was hard.
He's comfortable on the ball, and I also think you can sit him as a holding midfield player.
With that physique, he can only get better.
Well done, well played.
Probably the outstanding player of the weekend, unless I'm wrong would be Dylan.
The number 1, he's your goalkeeper.
The way he comes and takes the cross, he's two footed.
He's 6 foot 3 and he's only 17. He attacks the ball well.
I see lots in him that you can develop.
Covas from Brasil.
I like this kid.
He was calm and he picked a pass out.
He was the best player on show yesterday.
All the way from South Africa, Waylan Rooi.
I just stood up, I didn't know what to do. I didn't know where to walk.
It is the best feeling ever.
1 Joel Drommel from Holland.
Number 26 Dylan Byrns.
It's going to amazingly change and I'm going to grow a lot as a person being away from
my family and friends.
Shores closer to home, Aiden Austin.
It shows what training hard and working hard can bring. Train hard, play hard.
Number 8, from Brasil, Bruno Covas.
Well done Bruno.
Hello my Darling.
I was the last name they called out. I thought I wasn't going to make it.
Amazing.
I've not realised what just happened yet.
