Hello again John Davis From Arborist Marketing university. One of my mentors,
from quite some time is Rich Scheffron of strategic profits
and uh..
uh... We are going into a new year, as we do every year don't we?
You hear alot about goals and things of this nature.
You know, he was talking about something that uh... there's that that is very
successful
when you are talking of goals, with a little different spin on it.
but what i'd like to have you do is uh... look at it a little different
before you
this of "Goals"
i want to think of a role that you play
pick out three different roles that you play and you gotta forgive my ear deals here today.
I'm doing some recordings, So, You know,
we're just friends
uh... so look at the different roles that you play. Pick up three of them.
that you play
in in your life. For Instance, as a father
uh... maybe a
Husband, or wife.
CEO of a company. Pick Them out.
just three, top three
that what i want you to do is you do is under each three of them
Then we will get to goals, Okay? Now.
Under each three of them, put the goals that you would like to meet
Like as a father
what is it
about a father that you would like to better, next year
what about being a c_e_o_ of your company
what is it you'd like to do better there?
So each three of them, of the roles.
Put your goals for next year
okay so you got three roles.
R-O-L-E-S. The Roles that you play in your life if you've got three goals under
each one of them.
Now what i want you to do
is take....
You have 9 goals,
Prioritize Them.
Which is the most important for you?
What would be the number one thing that you would like to accomplish?
Next Year, if you never accomplished anythign else,
you'd want to accomplish that one.
That would be Number one.
The number two and number three
now out of THOSE goals, you are going to pick THREE.
okay
that you would like to do. What is the main thing that you would like to do as a father?
or ceo
under uh...
uh... you know whatever the other thing that you picked out.
Pick them out.
that's will be the three goals that you're going to work on
next year
but but but by that that's very important
so it's a little different way of looking at it but
I want to read you something, or tell you something.
That is often said,
and you will hear this. It is often said you that your experience is
that you ever have a because it's real
and is directly related to you
that's why you are they sure that in any plan that you do in you take a detail
what has happened
what could have gotten better
what what will well what your big takeaways other for all of it
bring them over to your planning for your current year cuz your experience
is what's really is your teacher.
The other thing you want to remember
to do no matter how you go about planning is prioritize.
Put it in Priority Order
priority order
See is also a challenge to understand what is your number one goal?
Why is that what goal so much more important?
than the other goals?
why is it
you need to know that, but it's critical for you to do it because if you don't
put things in priority order
You'll simply run the risk of acheiving
the least significant as opposed to the most significant
think about what we just talked about
See
Even if you decide not to answer these questions
and you decide not to do what i've asked you to do here.
Then at the very least make sure you do everything you can to harness your experiences
experiences
bring them into the present
and put them into priority order for what is most important for you in the future.
So, if you will you will do this.
Write them out
Write them down
Put them on a wall
put them on a wall
at the end every day you see them Everyday you look at them.
You should see what it is
and see if your own schedule
and I Guarentee
uh... back here
if you do it by the week, month
remember
you could do this
you could to this on a daily basis
you could do this every morning
but we'll talk about a year to year so do you see the way but if you're going
but if you will do this,
You days will go smoother. You're going to get more done. because when that one is done, you will go to the next one.
and so
It wil be alot smoother year for you.
ain't that good language
a lot smoother more year for year
So, this is John Davis, Arborist Marketing University
I'll See you Next Time.
