Hi. I'm Dave Pressy with St. Charles Flying Service on behalf of Expert Village. Before
each training flight you will sit down with your instructor for a preflight briefing to
discuss that days lesson. The preflight briefing gives you and your instructor the opportunity
to go over each aspect of the flight prior to launch. At this time your instructor will
introduce any new maneuvers or procedures and thoroughly explain each one. You will
also review any previous maneuvers you will be performing. And discuss any questions or
difficulties you may be having with the maneuver or concept. Your instructor will also check
to see if the appropriate reading or studying has been completed. They may ask you relevant
questions from your studies and may ask you to explain what you've learned. This is one
of the most important steps in any flight lesson. If you do not have a good understanding
of what it is you will be doing in the airplane it is difficult if not impossible to learn.
Take this opportunity to make sure you truly understand what it is your instructor will
be asking you to do during the flight.
