First, place open jars into a pot full of water.
If you'll use several jars, place a dish cloth between the jars to avoid that they don't break while boiling.
In this case there aren't many jars, so there's no need for a dish cloth.
Bring to a boil the water. From the moment it starts to boil
Then, place the jars and the lids over a dish cloth. First place them upside down for eliminating the excess water, then invert them.
Be careful since they're really hot!
Now you can fill the jars with the hot jam or hot tomato sauce.
Be careful since both the jar and the jam (or sauce) are still hot.
Close the jars with force and let them cool completely putting them upside down.
You can preserve your homemade jams or sauces in a dry place for more than a year.
