To Hoegenhei we go! ... and back...
An Easter Tale filmed and told by Wilfred Hildonen
Ahh! This is steep for an old man!
I am on my way up to Hoegenhei
where I haven't been to since I was 16-17, perhaps
A thrilling expedition!
Uh oh - and where to may the trail lead now?
That way?
or - over here?
Oh well, then I think we better go down there...
There are some blue marks...
Ah yes!
There is also a trail going up here!
I think we better continue up here...
I think that is the top of the ridge we see there!
My dear friends!
It may not be the top of Mount Everest
but we have at least reached the top of Hoegenhei!
I wonder if this is the "Poker Shelf"
we used to go to but then it is not dangerous...
We used to sit here, listening to Jimi Hendrix and drink beer...
I cannot say that I am suffering from heavy vertigo...
but - I don't think I shall get too close to the edge!
That is E18 - the road towards south...
I didn't use to suffer from dizziness, but ... eh he he...
I think it comes with age...
yes, it comes with age!
Together with brains, probably...
What we see down there is the Stokke lake
which was the water supply, earlier
Oh well - I think I better go down again, oh yes...
They've put up a nice handle, here!
I guess one could go down there, too, but...
... I think I will go for the safer route!
We were actually healthy youths then...
When we were 16-17 we dragged ourselves around
in rough terrain like this here
loaded with beer and a portable turntable with Stones and Hendrix...
OK, then we are here again - I came from there...
and should I go in that direction...
or... that way?
I think we better take that way
because I am sure that one is the shortest!
Note! Never listen to Hildonen's advice when you're out hiking!
Tolkien-wood! Oooooh haaaah!
We got through the Tolkien-wood...
Let us see now...
There are not many using this trail!
The path is not much used
Maybe that is because the path is more like a brook?
Brazilian military boots is the thing here!
I honestly think that...
we have ended up - in a place people do not go...
(What did we say?) That was too dense, too problematic...
Well - the wood is free for all!
One is free to go wherever one chooses!
I can at least get a glimpse of Stathelle down there!
If it doesn't get more steep than this, I will get down easily...
A little steeper, indeed, but not worse than I manage!
Just walk carefully now...
Loose rocks...
Not the largest scree but enough to have to be careful!
Now we are soon among people again...
Ahhh! I think it is best to keep both hands free here...
I came from up there...
Now to find a route...
which doesn't lead across the someone's garden ...
Let us see if I can get around here...
OK - I got away...
no angry dogs and...
And now I am back on civilised soil...
That was about it! This year's Easter tale
See you around!
