My name is Blake Rockwell, I'm the executive director of Special Spectators,
we're a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that creates magical days
for seriously ill children and their families at sporting events as all over the
United States
and we're here at the State Farm College Slam Dunk & 3-point Championship
hosting kids from Children's Healthcare of Atlanta.
Well its just such an awesome event for us
and working with Intersport is
fantastic.
You know, we've really put this together in just a couple of weeks and it's really exciting.
The kids just met all of the participants in tonight's event and you know
you can see how much more relaxed they are and just having a good time and laughing with with kids. So that's really great.
My son David was diagnosed with leukemia on December 28th and thanks to all of ya'll
we had this opportunity to come down here and we met all the
players and it's just awesome. It's really great.
Obviously they're going through so much in their life and it's really such a difficult time and just to give them a night out, or an afternoon off, or day, or whatever it is
and just really give them a load of fun, share some laughs, create some memories for them.
It's great for the parents to see their kids having fun
it's also really great for the kids to see their parents also having a great time.
These guys are just feet away from the players and they're gonna be right here watching them air it out from 3-point land and wicked dunks tonight. And they're right here to see it all.
