We' like to introduce you to the newest
Mustang in the latemodelrestoration.com
stable, this 1988 Mustang GT called Project Blue Collar.
Now we gave it that name, not just
because of the bright regatta blue paint,
but because of the type of build it's going to be.
Now this car is very representative of one
you would find on Craigslist or on your forum classified
saying For Sale, Doesn't Run.
Now hopefully, you'll be able to follow along and tackle
a lot of these same projects that we're
going to tackle on this car on your own project Mustang.
Now Project Blue Collar does have a bit of history
with this, as it used to be owned
by Shannon Guderian, the President
of latemodelrestoration.com.
And it was driven by his wife, Pam.
After they sold it, it changed hands between a few friends
and ultimately wound up back in our hands,
just not in the best of condition.
Now let's do a quick walk around to show you
what we have planned, and I want to show you
a nice welcome surprise that we found
on our initial inspection.
Now because Project Blue Collar has been sitting outside
for a couple years, step one is going
to be to get this thing running.
We're going to go through the fuel system, do a complete tune
up, and a thorough degreasing.
Next up, we're going to replace the sun roof weather
strip, because as of right now, she can't even sit outside,
because so much water comes in whenever it rains.
Then we're going to completely strip her down,
haul it off to paint, because the clear coat is completely
failed on the current paint job.
Once she comes back from paint, we're
going to completely go through the interior,
with new upholstery, foam, carpet, the whole nine yards.
Then we're going to throw on a five lug
swap and a new set of wheels and tires,
update the exhaust system, because right now it's
got one cobbled together, nasty exhaust.
And finally, the surprise that I told you we
found, we were lucky enough to find the window sticker
and the original owner's manuals still in the glove box.
Now we'll have informative videos
of each major step of this project.
So go subscribe to our YouTube channel to follow along.
And hop on over to latemodelrestoration.com
for all of your Mustang needs.
