\f0\fs24 \cf0 >> DARLEY NEWMAN: Filming in Botswana, Africa was one of the most amazing,
crazy, exciting \ \
>> JOHN SOBEY: Hello, that's enough. \ \
>> DARLEY NEWMAN: and challenging shoots we\'92ve done to date. In typical Equitrekking style,
our tight knit crew made the best of all situations\ \
>> GREG BARNA: Ha, ha, ha. I've got job security. \
\ >> DARLEY NEWMAN: and had a great time filming
some of the most incredible wildlife we\'92ve ever encountered. Join us on a behind the
scenes look at Equitrekking\'92s film shoot in Botswana, Africa.\
\ >> DARLEY NEWMAN:
\f1 \cf2 Ke a leboga. \f0 \cf0 \
\ >> DARLEY NEWMAN: Equitrekking was and is
my dream job.\ \
>> DARLEY NEWMAN: Hi, I'm Darley Newman and we're getting up close to elephants here.\
\ \
>> DARLEY NEWMAN: I host and produce the series.\ \
>> DAVID FOOTE: Carved in 1862.\ \
>> DARLEY NEWMAN: and am super dedicated to each and every episode we create. \
\ >> DARLEY NEWMAN: I have nothing to say about
that.\ \
>> DARLEY NEWMAN: In Botswana, that dedication was tested to the limit with spikey tree branches,\
\ >>JOHN SOBEY: Darley, we've got the three
bull elephants just over here.\ \
>> DARLEY NEWMAN: Ouch.\ \
>> DARLEY NEWMAN: charging elephants.\ \
>> DARLEY NEWMAN: I think he's coming towards us. John! John!\
\ >> DARLEY NEWMAN: Okay, should we go?\
\ >> DARLEY NEWMAN: and cold morning swims in
water where crocodiles, hippos and other creatures also play.\
\ >> DARLEY NEWMAN:
\i Screams. \i0 It's cold.\
\ >>JOHN SOBEY: It gets warmer over here.\
\ >> DARLEY NEWMAN: Why?\
\ >>JOHN SOBEY: Sorry.\
\ >> DARLEY NEWMAN: Don't lie to me, John.\
\ >> GREG BARNA: That's funny. She goes, oh
it's so cold. He goes. It gets warmer over here. She said, why.\
\ >>JOHN SOBEY: You happy staying. Doing this,
yeah?\ \
>> DARLEY NEWMAN: Yeah, as long as we don't get charged.\
\ >>JOHN SOBEY: Make a good picture though.\
\ >> DARLEY NEWMAN: I've already been charged.
I liked being on horseback better.\ \
>> JOHN SOBEY: You've not been charged on foot have you?\
\ >> DARLEY NEWMAN: No.\
\ >> JOHN SOBEY: It's a lot more interesting.\
\ >> DARLEY NEWMAN: Yeah. I'm a lot slower.
Just makes it interesting for the elephants.\ \
>> JOHN SOBEY: I think you'd find a different speed.\
\ >> DARLEY NEWMAN: Yeah.
\i laughs. \i0 \
\ >> DARLEY NEWMAN: In filming with the meerkats,
I decided to suggest that people who take this safari pack a sheet of fabric softener
to keep their clothes smelling fresh, since neither laundry nor packing a lot were options.
I could have used one.\ \
>> DARLEY NEWMAN: Greg, our director of photography, is just as devoted to making sure each and
every shot counts.\ \
>> GREG BARNA: Brush his rear end again. Brush his but\'85 top, yeah.\
\ >> DARLEY NEWMAN: including shots of grooming
horses at sunset on the Makgadikadi Pans, which looks a little like the surface of the
moon.\ \
>> GREG BARNA: Could you, uh, groom his neck for me. Just stay up by his neck. Just right
there. Yep.\ \
>> DARLEY NEWMAN: Some might call Greg bossy, but trust me, it\'92s worth it and the horses
that we ride, become very well groomed.\ \
>> GREG BARNA: Oh, sorry. Still stay on his neck. My fault. A little bit more. Work around
back to the front again. There you go.\ \
>> DARLEY NEWMAN: Greg has been known to invade personal space, just to get the right angle.
\ \
>> GREG BARNA: You just water. Don't worry about me.\
\ >> DARLEY NEWMAN: Luckily, I\'92ve learned
to speak Greg language, so when he\'92s filming far away, I help translate for the group.\
\ >> GREG BARNA: Little to your right.\
\ >> DARLEY NEWMAN: Go to your right a bit.\
\ >> GREG BARNA: Good. Straight. Left.\
\ G>> DARLEY NEWMAN: o straight.\
\ >> GREG BARNA: Left.\
\ >> DAVID FOOTE: Left.
\i laughs.\ \
\i0 >> GREG BARNA: Good.\ \
>> DARLEY NEWMAN: Good.\ \
>> DARLEY NEWMAN: And Chip, our executive producer, is constantly on the run, though
not always voluntarily.\ \
>> GREG BARNA: We're good.\ \
>> DARLEY NEWMAN: All in all, we truly enjoy our time on the road. We never know what we\'92re
going to discover.\ \
>> DAVID FOOTE: There is something in here for you Darley. Let me reach.\
\ >> DARLEY NEWMAN: No\
\ >> DAVID FOOTE: There is. There you go.\
\ >> DARLEY NEWMAN: And it's addressed to me.
Interesting. Let's see what the message is. Thanks for coming. Hope you enjoyed filming
this. What took you so long. With kind regards. David Livingstone. This has been waiting for
me for so long. Agh! \ \
>> DAVID FOOTE: 160 years.\ \
>> DARLEY NEWMAN: We finally made it.\ \
>> DARLEY NEWMAN: It\'92s almost as if we were meant to travel to Botswana and we were
certainly meant to share the journey with you.\
