My name is Dima. I'm from the Lenin mine.
I'll tell you about one situation. Since 2009 there's an order everywhere in the coal mine.
We have 's-sections' of chain links that create tension when tons of weight are lifted.
It is prohibited to use them but everybody still does it.
The ban has been there for two years already but people keep using them.
If one of the chiefs comes we hide them.
The management knows it's not allowed but it still happens, there's nothing to use instead.
Most of the industrial injuries, maybe even all, are caused by bad management and the lack of tools.
Of course there are tools and equipment but it's not enough.
It's a big problem not having tools on time.
For example you'll need something today but it will only arrive in 2 or 3 days.
In that time anything could happen.
They don't care about labour management. As long as the work is done nothing else matters.
Thank god I've never been injured.
In 10 cases of accidents at work 9 or even all 10 are changed to 'off-the-job'.
This is how the company reduces the injury rate.
