on a number of factors, depends on the patients themselves, how aggressive of a surgery they
had, how many lymph nodes were removed at the time of surgery, the field of radiation
whether it is treating the breast or whether it is treating the lymphatics as well. The
risk of lymphedema can range anywhere from 5% up to 50% depending on where a patient
falls with all these different categories as far as their treatment.
