North and South Korea hold rare nuclear talks. On Friday, July 22 special envoys of North
and South Korea meeting in Bali, Indonesia agreed to soon resume six-party dialog for
the denuclearization of the Korean peninsula. Chief South Korean negotiator Wi Sung-lac
commented later that talks with his North Korean counterpart Ri Yong-ho were productive.
This was the first direct meeting on nuclear discussion between the two nations since the
halt of six-party talks in 2008.
Our respectful congratulations, negotiators Wi Sung-lac and Ri Yong-ho on your cordial
and fruitful meeting. We pray for your continued progress and that lasting harmony soon prevails
across the Korean peninsula
