Hey everybody, I'm Brian, with Aromacup.com.
Thanks, as always, for joining me here in my virtual coffee shop
brought to you by Aromacup.com
In today's video I'm going to show you the Solofill
reusable filter cup for the Keurig Vue single serve coffee machine.
It's something we've been waiting for for quite some time,
being able to make our own coffee
using Keurig's newest and most specialized single serve brewer.
So we're going to be talking about the Solofill.
It looks very similar to the versions that we've talked in the past
that work with regular Keurig machines,
but this one's going to work with your Vue.
Let's dive right in and just talk about how we can
make use of it and how it works.
Let us talk about what's in the package.
First of all, it's really straightforward.
I've got the package right here,
Obviously, I've taken my Solofill out.
Now this Solofill is going to work with
the Keurig V600 and V700 single serve brewers.
Those are the only Keurig Vues
available, actually, at the making of this video.
So this is specifically for Vue machines.
It is not going to work with other Keurig single server brewers.
So you've got your packaging.
Real straightforward. It just gives you some information on the device.
And then of course you have to your Solofill.
This is very cool and very simple.
It uses this Decaflo technology, which basically is going to allow
for the water to be spread evenly over your coffee grounds
as you brew using the Vue machine.
Inside you're going to find a 24 karat gold filter.
The reason that Solofill decided to use gold is because gold is inert.
And so therefore it won't affect the flavor of your coffee.
If this were stainless steel,
things like that, there's usually a little bit of metallic taste.
You're not going to get that with gold.
So that just simply sits right inside of the Solofill.
And then you have your outlet right here.
So basically the brew process here is going to be that
the water is going to go into your coffee grounds and it will sort of
overflow, come out through this spigot, and that way it's going to
pour out into your cup.
So it's very easy to use. There's no hole on the bottom of this.
You're going to notice that there is a hole on the top
that goes into the Decaflo spout.
So it's very simple to use.
Let's talk about making use of the Solofill to brew a cup of coffee.
Brewing is very simple with the Solofill.
All we need to do is open it up and you could take out the gold filter
if you wanted to, but I'm not going to do that.
I'm just going to leave it in there.
Take some ground coffee. You want to use fairly course ground.
You do not want to use a fine espresso ground coffee for this,
because if you do you're going to more than likely clog up
the foil filter that is inside of the Solofill.
We're going to fill up to about the top.
We're not going to go all the way.
Again, you can adjust this based on how strong you like your coffee to be.
But you can also adjust the strength of your coffee using the Vue machine,
because the Keurig Vues will allow you to dial in the flavor of your coffee.
After you've put in your coffee grounds, just simply close it up.
And that's something I should mention real quickly here,
is that the door on this Solofill is great.
It's much improved over past Solofills.
It's actually got a hinge on it, so it's not going to break.
Some of you may have seen your Solofills break in the past.
That should not happen in the case with this one.
Now we're all set to brew.
We're going to open up our Keurig Vue.
And we're just going to pop the filter in.
It slides in because there's only one way that it can go into the machine.
Close this up and now we're going to be ready to brew.
We're going to place our cup,
and I'm just going to go ahead and do an 8 ounce cup of coffee.
I'm going to use the regular setting, although of course as I say,
with the Vues you can dial in a stronger cup directly from the machine.
We're all set to brew. Let's go ahead and press the brew button.
Now as I say, this is something we've been waiting for for quite some time,
is to be able to brew our own coffee using the Keurig Vue machines.
We've been saying for a while here on Aromacup.com that we expected
to see it soon, so we're really glad to see Solofill doing it.
Solofill definitely makes one of my favorite options
for brewing my own coffee using a Keurig K-Cup-style machine.
So with the Vue machine, which again, gives you a whole slew
of different options for how you can brew and what you can brew.
It's nice to be able to make our own coffee.
While the machine's finishing up its job, of course,
I'll do mine and remind you guys, please join us on Aromacup.com.

We'll help you demystified it.
That's what we do the best here at Aromacup.com.
Alright, we're finishing up.
And we'll give the machine just another moment here.
And there you go.
That's a cup of coffee and that is
using the Solofill single serve option from the Keurig Vue.
It looks like a great cup of coffee.
It tastes like a great cup of coffee.
And the beauty is I really don't have much waste here.
When I'm all done brewing I can take out my Solofill, open it up,
of course it's going to be hot so be careful,
open it up, you can get rid of those coffee grounds.
You can compost them if you want to, but you're not throwing
away any plastic or foil or anything like that.
You can use your own coffee, which is something that we all really like,
because if you have favorite type of coffee, it's nice to
be able to brew that coffee using an awesome machine
like a Keurig Vue single serve coffee machine.
So there you go guys.
A quick overview of how to make use
of the Solofill for the Keurig Vue machines.
I really like this option, and very, very easy to use.
We're sure to see more ways to brew your own coffee using Keurig Vues,
but this one coming in and really knocking it out of the park I think.
I hope that that's been useful to you guys.
