Thanks for joining me! It's great to be here with you. I say that with a new
perspective.
You might have heard the news: I was recently diagnosed with prostate cancer.
I entrusted my life
and my care
to my friends and colleagues at Lakeland
because I know that we have the best team
anywhere.
I had a robotic assisted radical prostatectomy
and I'm recovering well.
The experience was enlightening.
I saw a level of care we provide
firsthand
from the perspective of a patient.
It confirmed for me that an inpatient experience
is indeed
a drama.
Watch this:
I am so grateful for the exceptional care that I received.
Thanks so much for bringing your hearts to work.
I can see why we're a Top 100 hospital.
That's why we want to celebrate you during our National Hospital Week,
show our appreciation for
everything you do to make a Lakeland a great place to work and a great
place to receive care.
I don't want to give too much away, but I'll be wearing my chef hat.
Look for more in next week's issue of the Pulse.
We've reached day 62 of our "90 in 90" campaign.
Less than a month remains to reach our goal.
St. Joseph has rebounded to the 80th percentile.
Niles is also making a comeback; after dipping to the 10th percentile, we
currently are scoring in the 60th percentile.
So congratulations to Watervliet for reaching the 90th percentile early in March.
Those latest scores have dropped the 25th percentile,
but keep at it - there's still time.
And this is really just the beginning. Listen to these words from Norita Lachica.
Thanks, Dr. Loren. As a house supervisor, I've met so many of you over
the years.
I've heard some of you say that you'll be happy when the "90 in 90" push is
over.
I think a few of us are confusing the "90 in 90" goal, which of course
continues through the end of May,
with our commitment to provide an exemplary patient experience, which
lasts forever.
Creating healing relationships through bringing your heart to work
and making sure our patients, their families, and our co-workers can see that,
can hear that, and most importantly can feel that, is a commitment that
will of course continue. That's the kind of compassionate care you want to
provide and the kind of compassionate care
we want our friends and neighbors to receive.
That's right, Norita.
Thanks for the reminder.
So remember to deliver your own "who,"
"what,"
and your own heartfelt "why" to every patient,
every shift.
And don't forget to share your
heartfelt "whys" with your team members as well.
I'm Dr. Loren Hamel.
This is your "90 in 90 Mission Moment."
I'm here because I am committed to giving you the tools,
the information, and the support you need
to provide exemplary patient experiences at Lakeland HealthCare.
What's your "why"?
