Hi everyone, today I'm going to make a brief summary of my impressions of “Batman: Arkham City”
I enjoyed a lot the previous Batman game made by Rocksteady, “Batman Arkham Asylum”,
and was expecting, at least, more of the same from this sequel
I wasn't disappointed
It's an action game with a lot of combat, mostly hand to hand, some stealth mechanics, some puzzles and exploring,
a few Batman's gadgets to use from time to time and great voice acting
If you liked "Asylum" you'll certainly enjoy this one
Combat mechanics are basically the same, which is a good thing considering they already were one of the most fun and fluid ones I had ever seen
Besides some bosses, the enemy types are also mostly identical:
there are a good number of unarmed thugs you can beat easily and some others with knives, rifles, shields... that present a little more of a challenge
Combat is easy to master and very rewarding and fights in general are never too hard, including the boss fights
The gadgets you get during the game are also quite similar and fun to use: the batarang, batclaw, explosive gel...
can help you during combat or to solve puzzles and find the correct path through some areas
In practice, the main difference with the previous game is where this one takes place
Now you have some city blocks, Arkham City, to wander around swinging and gliding and explore while you follow the main story missions
or make some side missions and puzzles you find available through the streets
If you just focus on finishing the main story it may not make much of a difference but, at the very least, going from mission to mission is now a lot more fun
Visually, the game is quite impressive, with a very well designed art style
Arkham city looks great and the character's animations, specially Batman's, are very fluid which, as I said, is part of what makes the combat so good
The plot isn't remarkable but it's entertaining
it includes some famous enemies from the comic books and adds some brief sections where you control Catwoman
Voice acting continues to be one of the best of any game I've played, with another amazing performance from Mark Hammil as The Jocker
As I was expecting, I really enjoyed this game. It's not a huge evolution from the previous one,
in fact, in essence it's practically the same, but in this case that's a very good thing
The only really negative thing about the game I can think of is the DRM it includes,
which is the main the reason I waited until it was really really cheap to get it
If I understand it correctly you have a limited number of activations and you don't get them back when you uninstall the game,
not exactly a good way to treat your customers
That's mostly it, a great game you'll sure enjoy if you liked the previous one and,
if you haven't played Asylum yet, you'll probably enjoy this one but I recommend playing it first
Hope you enjoyed this video, see you on the next one, byeeeee
