EVAN DOHERTY: I'm Evan Doherty here with Shaun King for Yahoo
Sports at the NFL draft.
The big news for the Dallas Cowboys,
they get Ezekiel Elliott, the Ohio State running back with
the fourth overall pick.
Shaun, I know you wanted them to take an offensive lineman,
but this is the flashy move we thought Jerry Jones might make.
SHAUN KING: How about this?
Thank god for Todd Gurley.
I mean, up until Gurley's success last year,
running back had kind of been a forgotten position,
no matter how talented the individual was,
but I think he showed that when there's an elite talent at that
position that there's a lot of value.
And Ezekiel Elliott checks off all the boxes.
He can run in between the tackles.
He has good enough top end speed to be a home run hitter.
He can catch the football, and very, very importantly,
he did an excellent job on third downs at Ohio State in pass
protection.
So Dallas is getting a heck of a player at number four.
EVAN DOHERTY: How does he fit in this [INAUDIBLE] with Darren
McFadden and Alfred Morris already there?
SHAUN KING: I think he's going to be the starter.
I think McFadden's a guy that's kind of a change of pace
[? back ?] at this point in his career,
and Ezekiel Elliott has young legs.
And I think Cowboys fans are going to be excited and happy.
EVAN DOHERTY: You know a lot of silver and blue are going to be
very happy.
Down in Texas for Shaun King and Evan Doherty,
this is Yahoo Sports coverage of the 2016 NFL draft from
Chicago.
