THE FERRET: All right. So the first thing we're going to do is we're going to remove
the old strings from the guitar. What you want to do is you want to have a good pair
of wire cutters. You want to loosen the tension on all the strings and then you want to cut
the strings right up here above the nut, 'cause that way you can pull the old strings through
the body and back through the holes without having the problem of all these windings up
here. So once you've loosened all those, just take your string cutters and clip the strings
just like this. Now, all these strings can come out the back and if you use some needle
nose pliers, you can take the rest of the strings off from the top without poking yourself
in the fingers with any strings. On the back of the guitar, you've got six Philips head
screws, which I've already removed. And you can take off the back cavities cover plate.
And that reveals your tremolo block, your springs, your spring tension plate. And it's
also a good idea to have that off when you're restringing because then you can just take
your strings right off the back without having anything to interfere.
