>> Well, I decided to go to medical school based on my experience from age seven.
My parents, back in the '60s, bought the Encyclopedia Britannica, and I started with A
and I got to these anatomy overlays, and I thought that was the most fascinating thing,
that we were built of nerves and muscles, and tissues inside us.
Michigan, I think more than any place I've been, really offers collaborative care.
One of our strengths is that you can come see someone in one subspecialty and that will link
to other subspecialties and other care, where the whole picture is taken -- is looked at.
For example, someone with a cancer, we have this concept that is used at other places,
but I think we've really taken this to the next level of the Tumor Board, for instance,
where there's multiple experts that examine the details of a particular patient and offer,
based on evidence based medicine, experience, and any current knowledge for --
to offer the best care and the best approach to care for that patient.
