Hi everybody! Today I'm going to teach you
how to make spaghetti Carbonara
I know that everybody loves to eat spaghetti
and so do I
and this is my favourite flavour
Why? Because its so easy and tasty, It only takes a few minutes
Ok, so let me introduce the ingredients...the first is bacon
I usually allow one piece of bacon per person today I will prepare 2 portions
chop the bacon finely
the second ingredient is onion
about 1/2 an onion per 2 people the third ingredient is parmesan cheese
parmesan cheese is easy to find in supermarkets(get fresh if you can!)
(For those in Taiwan) Welcome Mart and Carrefour sell this in a tub.
so its easy to come by.
next...2 eggs
loads of black pepper(the more the merrier) also salt (you can add to taste)
most importantly..fresh cream
(For those in Taiwan please don't use the sweet cream, its yucky with this recipe, use the real fresh cream)
so now, lets get cooking!
I've pre heated the pan with a splash of olive oil(medium-high heat)
add the bacon, smells amazing!!!
the heat should medium high so the bacon can cook quickly and become crisp
lovely!
then add the chopped onion Why I hear you ask am I adding the onion AFTER the bacon?
It's because I want the onion to be a little crunchy!
(personal preference, you can add before the bacon if you wish to have fully cooked onion)
yummy!
so you don't need to cook this for long so now we can turn off the heat
and leave the pan for a moment now we will move on to do the sauce
okay
So take a big bowl
break the two eggs into the bowl
LOTS of black pepper
add lots to give it a good after flavour when eating
add salt
like I said before its up to you how salty you make this
Next take around 100ml cream
now mix together
so you get a lovely creamy yellow colour
mix until the sauce thickens up a little
when the mixture is totally smooth and the eggs have blended with the cream its about ready
now we will add the parmesan
i love the smell of this (even though it smells a little like sweaty feet)
keep mixing
this is also good exercise for the arms
so now the bacon and onions are ready
make sure you take away any access oil on the bacon and onion and then put them into your cream mixture.
so please don't worry about eating raw egg, the bacon and onion will start to cook the egg as they are warm
lovely!
give it a mix
Now to add the spaghetti!
I've already pre cooked these and they are still hot
TIP; How can you tell if pasta is fully cooked?
you could pick one out the pan and try it maybe
but sometimes this isn't so easy as the pasta is too hot to eat!
An easier way is to take one piece of spaghetti
and throw it like this against the wall/fridge
if it sticks its ready
if it falls down please cook for a further couple of minutes
So spaghetti's cooking time
is usually only around 10-12 minutes
so now we add the hot spaghetti to the cream mix
mix
looks yummy!
again, the spaghetti is hot so its constantly cooking the eggs
take a look at the lovely sauce
i'll just grab the final plate
TIP;
sometimes when making pasta theres always too much or too little, its deceiving
a standard portion for women is around 50-60g
for men around 70-80g
this is about the right amount to fill you
this is totally a guideline though as everybody is different
so add more or less depending on personal preference
so here is about 60g just enough for me
finally we can add more parmesan cheese on the top
lovely jubley, i like loads!!
add mozzarella or cheddar or any of your favourite cheese on top if you wish
lets stick some herbs on the top
beautiful adds a bit of colour
also more pepper
so heres my spaghetti Carbonara I'm off to eat my lunch
see you l8r bye bye:)
