Enginetech, the engine builders source, presents the Enginetech product videos.
Hi, we're here today to talk about Enginetech's rebuilder gasket set featuring fire seal technology.
Engine gaskets are the heart of any engine you build.
No matter what you do on an engine you're going to have to use a set of gaskets.
First of all, all our gasket sets use a very, very simple, easy-to-use part numbering system.
The part number itself here explains what the application is.
For example, this is a C-350 gasket set, and guess what, it fits a Chevrolet 350.
An F-302 would fit a Ford-302, a CR-287 would be a Chrysler 287 or more commonly known as
4.7.
The gasket set also specifies on the label here exactly what goes in it as well as more
importantly what's not in it.
In case you're needing a specific item that is not in the base gasket set, you can order
it separately.
And list the application years on it, and we update that regularly.
Depending on what the application is, it might have already faded off into obscurity, and
it's no longer important.
But some of these later model applications continue to go forth.
So we update the label to let you know exactly what it fits.
This helps across-the-counter sales just as much as it does the engine builder.
So if I open a gasket set here, you're going to find a couple of things right away that
we consider important to the engine builder.
Number one, on the packaging of the product itself, you'll see that we have subgroups.
They are not all just herky-jerky, mumbo jumbo thrown in one bag inside the box, and you've
got to go through and take them out and determine what you have.
One of the other benefits to doing it like this allows us to make sure we have what they
call no paper dolls in the gasket set, and this is a real important point.
Some of our competitors will send you a sheet of cork that's got all these perforations,
kind of like when you were kid and got those model kits that you had to break all the parts
off the plastic stem.
Enginetech's gasket sets are all cut out from each other individually, precision die cut
to eliminate installation leaks that might occur from what we call paper dolls.
Our cork material we use is a high rubber content blend.
The more rubber you have in it, the more likely it is to be able to take abuse like this and
not form a crack here.
Exhaust manifold gaskets, kind of everyone does this now, but Enginetch was the industry
leader in coming out with a one piece, 350 Chevrolet exhaust manifold gasket.
You see this all the time in headers, header gaskets, but we do it even on our standard
350 Chevrolet gasket set.
We think it makes the rebuilding process a lot easier not having to have three individual
pieces and juggling them up there while you're putting the exhaust manifold against the head.
And then the heart of any gasket set is the cylinder head gasket.
Enginetech has a couple of things we incorporate into all our sets that make it the rebuilder's
gasket set.
We compensate all our fire ring diameters up to 60 thousandths to prevent what we call
fire ring protrusion incurring into the combustion chamber.
The needs of the rebuilt engine are not the same as those of an O.E. engine.
This here compensating the fire ring, compensating the thickness on the intake manifold gaskets.
All those little features and benefits are for the benefit of the engine rebuilder.
It's not got nothing to do with O.E. quality.
So again, Enginetech goes through on our gasket sets and makes sure that all the features
and benefits that you need for the rebuilt engine, not the O.E. are incorporated into
our gasket set. Thank you.
